We walked from the Incline Railway gift shop to Point Park and then back through the neighborhoods to the Sunset Rock viewing area. Walking through the neighborhoods gave us a lovely view of the town, and we even met a local, with whom we enjoyed chatting. It was a 20 minute walk from the gift shop, but well worth the view from Sunset Rock even in the morning! The path down to Sunset Rock is well kept, but be ready for that hike back up! These Kansas legs and lungs were feeling each step. So beautiful though!
Great shot hike. Got there at 10am Monday. There were two parks places left out of 8. I’m almost 75 and I walk from the bottom to the top without stopping to rest. So it’s that bad. Nice trail. I downloaded the AllTrails map. I did walk some other trails for a total of 6.50 miles.
Really beautiful spot to view sunset. Parking is a nightmare though with only a few parking spots. BE MINDFUL, by the time the sun was setting there were 2 police cars writing tickets for cars parked on the side of the street. I overheard one telling the other to call the tow trucks.
Well, I forgot to turn off the tracker when I was done and it caught a few miles of me driving… weird you can’t edit that after! BUT sunset pointe was absolutely amazing, and the trail alongside the side of the mountain is incredible. Might be one of my favorite hikes. Only did 2 miles because it was getting dark, wish I had spent all day on it!! Sweeping views, gorgeous rocks and streams.
