In 2007, the cinema world was stunned with the on screen action in The 300. Directed by Zack Snyder, audiences were thrust into a history lesson and didn’t even know it. King Leonidas and his army of 300 Spartans fought off the Persians, and their god-king Xerxes, until they were surrounded and fell in battle.
Tomorrow, the second installment of the 300 series hits movies nationwide. A few new faces appear like Eva Green who plays Artemisia (leader of Persian naval fleet) and Sullivan Stapleton (Themistocles), who tries to unite all of Greece against the Persians. As well as some familiar faces like Lena Headey (Queen Gorgo of Sparta) and Rodrigo Santoro as the golden god king.
We spoke with Santoro about the new challenges of playing Xerxes again, the possibility of a third 300 film and how hard he trained to carve the physique of an ancient deity. Check out what he had to say about the new film by clicking the arrows above.
