What is Uber Taxi ?
Uber Taxi allows you to take a cab ride directly from the Uber app. All you need to do is have an Uber account and log into the app in a city where Taxi is available.
If Taxi is available in your city, then you’ll be able to select this option when you order a ride.
Unlike rides on VTC-type options that are performed by VTC drivers (who hold a VTC Professional Card), rides on the Taxi option are performed by cab drivers (who hold a Taxi Professional Card).
How does pricing work on Uber Taxi?
Cab pricing is defined by the regulations of each city in which we operate.
The fare is not calculated by Uber but entered by the driver as calculated and displayed by the taximeter. A price range is displayed on the app as an indication before a ride is ordered.
This amount has no contractual value, the final price being the one indicated by the taximeter and which will be entered by the driver directly in the application.
This price includes the approach, the waiting time, the pick-up, as well as any other supplement provided for by the regulations in force. As this price depends, in particular, on the duration of the trip, it may exceed the range that had been announced depending on traffic conditions.
**Wait Time Fees **
The amount of the wait time fee is automatically included in the fare calculated by the taximeter. You will be charged the hourly rate in effect in your city (approximately 40 cents/minute).
Approach Fee
The approach fee is automatically included in the fare provided by the taximeter. You will be charged for the approach fee according to your city’s hourly rate.
Additional charges
You do not have to pay tolls unless you have asked the driver to take a particular route that includes tolls. In all cases, the tolls will be included in the fare displayed by the taximeter.
The final fare displayed by the taximeter does not include tips, which you may decide to pay to your driver in cash or directly via the application, once the trip is over.
**Can I cancel an Uber Taxi ride ? **
If you cancel a ride more than 4 minutes after the order, you will be charged €7.3 for all zones. If the driver cancels after 5 minutes of waiting at the pickup location, you will be charged €9.
