There's a bit of a vicious cycle with narratives about animal rights, which is this: you want to teach everyone (but particularly non-vegans) the truth about animal cruelty with these stories but then you come off preachy and they don't want to partake. Then you're left with only vegans watching the movies and you spend half of it littering the story with information they already know.
Now, let me clarify a bit: I am vegan and I am a-okay with being littered with information that I already know, and I don't blame any movie for trying to get as much information as possible out there. The "issue" is that it tends to hurt the narrative. It's a very fine line…
what an absolute mess and i’m not talking about the cheap production quality. it’s a low budget film and that’s fair enough like but the whole movie was just all over the place. i’m not sure any of it actually worked well here?? the acting was pretty bad. the narrative was all over the place. and while the main message, i kind of agree with the overall delivery was just terrible; it was awfully preachy. it felt like they were just trying to shove as much information in as they can. it’s just another ‘be vegan or you’re a bad person’ piece of media which isn’t the way to bring people towards a cause. i will however say, i enjoyed a lot of the comedic elements.
even dianna agron in a cheerleading outfit with 31 seconds of screen time could not save this movie.
good message overall i guess but i thought it was poorly executed to the point where i was just bored and waiting for it to be over
If I had to put into words what I'd do to animal industry representatives if I got my hands on them, I'd get put on a list but I'll just say that while an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind, it might get some people to stop fucking poking eyes out. There is no freedom until we're all free and that includes animals.
I had hoped this was gonna be some kind of How To Blow Up A Pipeline for animal rights but it wasn't nearly as engaging except for those already converted.
Surprisingly great movie with a good message but it can be very graphic at times especially for animal lovers there are some hard scenes to watch in it. Watched this movie for Dianna but stayed for the content.
This movie gets a star for having a slightly true message, but the overall point comes down to one thing
You can’t eat anything ever and be a person who likes animals
Garbage movie from a technical perspective
