PAGASA: Rains to persist in Mindanao due to trough of LPA

The through of a low pressure area will continue to dump rains in parts of Mindanao, which could trigger flash floods and landslides, PAGASA said Friday.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Parts of Mindanao, particularly the Davao Region have been battered by heavy rains that flooded roads and caused landslides in some areas.

The Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora and Quezon, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be expected in Metro Manila and the rest of the country because of localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao may experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:24 a.m. on Saturday. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
