- Roslyn138Wrexham, UK1,113 contributionsWe were part of a small minibus group that had 1 day in Langkawi . Part of tour was to visit the cable car and skybridge . We did opt for the express lane so that reduced the time in queuing . Cost was less than £20 per person - but excellent value.
It’s the longest free span. Able car that takes you up the Machinchang mountain - you certainly get a panoramic view of the island as well as the surrounding islands. From the middle station you take a further ride to Top station and if you feel energetic you could take the 19 walk to the skybridge - longest curved suspension. Being of a certain age we opted for the monorail !
It was cloudy when we went but I am sure it would be wonderful on a clear day. Be aware that there might be a queue to get back into the monorail for the top station .

The views are astonishing and the Bridge is a men made wonder!
We only took the tickets for the cable car (to get up there) and for the Sky Bridge itself. Everything else we skipped.
Spend some time up there, it’s worth every minute as the weather might clear up and you get better views!

It’s quieter towards Casa Del Mar end but alas as others have stated, it’s become very busy with jet skis during the day and vehicles driving up and down the sand dropping & collecting them in the morning and evening. The cars / trucks don’t seem to care about people walking along the beach and often people have to jump out of the way as the cars try to go up the inclines. Also as the block footpath runs the length of the beach this is now used by mopeds to drive up and down all day long again forcing people to get out of the way. Lots of rubbish left on beach at sunset, but this generally gets cleared up the next morning or sadly washed into the sea. - Charlotte J24 contributionsHad an amazing time at the waterfall, we arrived around 6pm and there were only 2 other people there. We soon had the entire waterfall to ourselves, which felt very special.
There are monkeys on patrol so do keep an eye on your possessions, and another tip would be to wear water-friendly shoes! I went in barefoot which was fine until I tried getting out… the edges of the pools are naturally very slippy and I spent a good 5 minutes (much to my husband’s amusement) trying to get out!
The steps take around 15-20 mins, depending on your fitness levels. My husband struggling with the humidity as we were walking up, so bear this in mind.

It’s clean and everything was powered, so it’s okay to eat (i think). We didn’t have any issues. Ironically we hadn't intended to visit as we were due to ride the cable car but it was too windy for them to run in the morning so our excursion visited here as the Plan B. Although disappointed to miss out on the cable cars and sky bridge, we actually really liked our visit to Underwater World.
As aquariums go it was pretty decent, it's the largest attraction of its type in Malaysia and included a wide range of exhibits. You had the usual mix of jellyfish, turtles, stingrays etc, but they had a wonderful display of rockhopper penguins where you could watch them on the rocks or head to a lower viewing area and see them swimming from underneath them. Very cool idea.
Other exhibits included catfish, sharks, a tropical rainforest area, Koi Carp, eels, coral garden fishes, a 15-meter tunnel where you are surrounded by giant stingrays, groupers and turtles, and some reptile displays with snakes. At the end of the walk around there was a large gift shop that also sold duty-free goods with a wide selection of chocolates and alcoholic drinks at reasonable prices.
