In the Unlikely Event throws together a smorgasbord of heavy styles in the hopes it will gel somehow as a coherent album. It doesn’t even come close, leaving each song to stand or collapse on its own
In The Unlikely Event proves to be an underwhelming, grave disappointment.
For some, the worst Fall Of Troy album, for others, a bloated, messy, uneven album. For me, an underrated masterpiece that deserves all the praising in the world. Yes, I think it’s better than Doppelgänger, better than the Self-Titled, better than Manipulator, the best album they have ever made, the softer focus and cleaner production makes every song here a standout, specially Panic Attack!, Single and Webs. off. it feels off. some good fruit, and some REALLY bad ones (“Empty the Clip…” and “Webs” are TERRIBLE.) but the good ones are like. solid as fuck. i’m especially a fan of “Dirty Pillow Talk” and “Panic Attack!”, but i left this album feeling unsatisfied. I know they can do better clearly, but this was a huge lack.

This album spends most of its duration living in the shadow of its opener, Panic Attack!. Rarely does it live up to this track, and it instead just morphs into a painful bore.
