The original Charlie's Angels TV show arrived in 1976 and followed the adventures of a trio of private investigators under the employ of the mysterious, unseen millionaire Charlie. The series was enormously popular in its day, making stars out of its leading ladies but it was eventually cancelled after five seasons due to several cast departures and declining ratings.
A reboot was proposed in 1988 that was dubbed Angels '88, which would have featured a group of actresses opening their own detective agency when their own detective series was cancelled. They would have used their experience playing detectives to run the business, and Charlie himself wouldn't have been a character in this new incarnation. The show was set to star actresses like Sandra Canning and a then-unknown Tea Leoni, but after numerous delays, the project was cancelled, and it's unknown if a pilot was even filmed. A revival TV series eventually arrived in 2011 which cast Annie Ilonzeh, Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor in the lead roles, but it only lasted for one season.

Kristen Stewart - Sabina Wilson
Charlie's Angels 2019 cast Kristen Stewart as Sabina, who was recruited by Charlie after stints in prison and credits her role as an Angel with saving her life. She and Jane help save programmer Elena from an assassin, and the three work together to stop a mysterious villain. The three also bond over the mission, with Sabina considered the wildest of the team; she's also skilled in firearms, unarmed combat and often acts as a decoy during missions.
Ella Balinska - Jane Kano
Ella Balinska's Jane is a former MI6 agent and is the most professional and stoic of the group. That said, when her mentor Edgar "Bosley" is assassinated she seeks revenge on his killer, and as she bonds with Sabina and Elena, she learns to trust in teamwork. Being a trained agent also makes Jane very useful with guns and unarmed combat.
Naomi Scott - Elena Houghlin
Naomi Scott plays Elena in Charlie's Angels 2019, an engineer who created the Calisto project. She helps kick the plot into motion when she comes to Edgar "Bosley" for help when she learns Calisto could be used for nefarious means, and she later becomes a new recruit in the Charles Townsend Detective Agency as she helps Sabina and Jane investigate.
Elizabeth Banks - Rebekah "Bosley"
Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect 2) - who also helmed Charlie's Angels 2019 - is Rebekah "Bosley," one of the many Bosley's within the agency and a former Angel. Rebekah takes over the Calisto case following the death of Edgar and is shown to be a very capable leader, but calls upon her old skills as an Angel later in the story.
Patrick Stewart - John Bosley
Patrick Stewart plays the original Bosley in Charlie's Angels 2019, who retires near the start of the movie. It's later revealed Bosley has turned evil and betrayed the agency, and is bitter about not being selected to take over following the passing of Charlie. Rebekah suspected this deception and has been keeping tabs on him.
Jonathan Tucker - Hodak
Westworld's Jonathan Tucker plays Bosley's ruthless henchman and assassin Hodak in Charlie's Angels. The character is essentially mute and makes an enemy of Jane when he kills Edgar "Bosley" during a cafe ambush.
