Citi PowerBundles Program Terms & Conditions

In these Terms and Conditions “Card” means Citi Rewards Card and/or Citi Plus Credit Card issued by us, Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited (“Citibank”, also referred to as “we”, “our”, or “us”), while “you” or “your” refers to principal Cardholder. Your enrollment in the Citi PowerBundles Program means that you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

  1. Description. The Promotion is from now until August 31,2023 or the last day of the August 2023 card statement cycle (whichever is earlier), both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”). During the Promotion Period, the Citi PowerBundles Program (the “Program”) allows you to get rebates at selected merchants under different bundle options based on specific categories, if you spend a minimum accumulated amount to meet Total Qualifying Spend and Rebate Eligible Transactions with the Eligible Card within each month and upon achieving different thresholds as further described in section 5&6 (the “Bundles”).

    For clarity, “Statement Cycle” means the billing period to which a Card statement applies, usually about a month. This is the period of time for which Card statement is generated. For each period, the statement will show transactions, charges, payments and other credits posted during that period.

    “Total Qualifying Spend” refers to all purchase transactions done on participating credit card during Statement Cycle. This includes purchases made even on merchants not defined in your selected bundle. Refer section 5 for more details.

    “Rebate Eligible Transactions” refers to transactions made at any of the merchants specified in your selected bundle, as further described in section 6. These will be the transactions against which a rebate will be posted.

    Bundles are available to Cardholders from the following products, including Citi Rewards Card and Citi Plus Credit Card (“Eligible Card”) of Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited.

    Cardholder can select a retail category among “EAT BUNDLE”, “SHOP BUNDLE” or “PLAY BUNDLE”, depending on your daily spending behaviors or on your own preference, in order to get rebate for the spending on the merchants under the bundle that you selected.

  2. Enrollment into the Program. You can enroll for the Program without incurring any additional fee if your Card account status is in good standing (meaning that you are not in default under the Card terms and conditions) during the Promotion Period in order to be eligible to receive the rebate. Otherwise, Citibank reserves the right to forfeit the rebate without prior notice.

    You can sign up and be enrolled for only one Bundle at any point in time. Any enrollment/de-enrollment or changes to your bundle selection can be done through Citi Mobile App. “Total Qualifying Spend” will be considered from the first day of the next Statement Cycle in which you enrolled to your Bundle. Once chosen, the selected Bundle will be automatically rolled over to next Statement Cycle unless you unsubscribe as mentioned in section 4.

  3. Switching of Bundles. You can subscribe to only one Bundle at a time that will remain in force till end of the current card statement cycle but you can switch between Bundles; the new Bundle will be activated on the first day of the next statement cycle. For the earlier bundle enrolled, it will be in-force until the last day of current statement cycle in which customer has switched to another bundle or cancelled current bundle. If there are multiple selections within one card statement cycle, we will consider the last selection before next card statement cycle starts.

  4. De-enrollment from the Program. You can unsubscribe at any time. In case you decide to de-enroll, your selected Bundle will be deactivated on the last day of Statement Cycle in which this request has been made.

  5. Details of the Program
    • 5.1. “Total Qualifying Spend” refers to all purchase transactions done on participating credit card during a Statement Cycle based on the transaction posting date, both online and offline transactions made in Hong Kong Dollars or foreign currencies with official payment records. If an online transaction is settled in foreign currency, the transaction amount will be based on the currency and amount in Hong Kong Dollar after conversion posted in the credit card statement. This includes purchases made even on merchants not defined in your selected bundle. “Total Qualifying Spend” includes any recurring online or Point of sale transactions.
    • 5.2. Whereas “Ineligible Spend” including but not limited to, spending with Citi Rewards UnionPay Card which is billed in CNY, transactions through Faster Payment System (FPS) services, cash advances, withdrawal amount/loan amount under the Balance Transfer Program, Cash Conversion Program, “FlexiBill” Installment Program and “PayLite” Installment Program and Quick Cash Installment Program, bill payment including payment to the Inland Revenue Department, all payments made using “Citi PayAll Service”, mutual funds payment, fees & charges, casino transactions, unposted/cancelled/refunded transactions, other unauthorized transactions and fraud and abuse transactions.
    • 5.3. For all three bundles of EAT, SHOP or PLAY, in order to be eligible to get rebate under this program, you need to meet both the conditions: 1) Meet minimum “Total Qualifying Spend” amount of over HKD$5,001 with your participating Credit Card as specified in section 5.1, and 2) Make eligible transactions (“Rebate Eligible Transactions”) on the participating Credit Card on merchants specified in your selected bundle. All Total Qualifying Spend made through Principal and Supplementary cards under the same Eligible Card account will be combined. The rebate will be credited into the principal card account.
      • a) If a Qualifying Spend transaction is reversed, then the equivalent amount will be reversed from your total spend for calculating the rebate. Spend reversals will be considered in the Statement Cycle in which they are posted. “Total Qualified Spend” transaction reversed in subsequent Statement Cycle, will be netted of against the spends of that Statement Cycle in which reversal is posted. If the “Total Qualifying Spend” falls below the Qualifying Spend Tier (as mentioned in section 6.2 below), the corresponding rebate will be reversed.
      • b) This assessment of aggregate “Total Qualifying Spend” after considering reversal transactions will be done on the last date of Statement Cycle. The rebate reversal transaction, if any will be posted on the first day of next Statement Cycle.
      • c) Rebates will be credited in your Credit Card account in 3 – 5 working days after meeting all qualifying conditions. Rebate can be credited to your Card account multiple times in a Statement Cycle but not more than maximum eligible amount.
      • d) If you reach the “Total Qualifying Spend” on the last day of your Statement Cycle, the rebate will be credited to your Card account in 3 – 5 working days which will be next Statement Cycle.
      • e) Eligibility for rebates will be evaluated individually for each Statement Cycle based on transactions posted in that cycle only, instead of transaction date. Unutilized spends or unearned rebates will not be carried forward to the next Statement Cycle.

  6. Eligible Merchant Transactions (“Rebate Eligible Transactions”)
    • 6.1 “Rebate Eligible Transactions” refers to transactions posted from following merchants in the statement that will be eligible for rebates. There are a number of eligible merchants under each bundle, including:

    • a) Identification of eligible transactions will be on the sole discretion of Citibank. Citibank will be able to identify the transactions on best effort basis and will rely on the fact that correct merchant name and service is mentioned in the transaction description as shared by network/transaction processor with Citi.

    • 6.2 Rebates and Qualifying Spend Tiers

      The maximum rebate under this program shall be equal to the “Rebate Eligible Transactions” done at selected merchant as mentioned in table below. This cumulative rebates amount will be determined by the “Total Qualifying Spend”.

      In the case "Rebate Eligible Transactions" is less than the maximum benefit on specific “Total Qualifying Spend” tier, then the rebate will be equal to the actual transaction amount and you may not receive the full benefit of rebate amount.

      Any unutilized spends or unearned rebates will not be carried forward to the next statement cycle. The rebates credited in your credit card will not be considered towards the Min Due Payment.

      Below is the table to illustrate “Total Qualifying Spend” and the corresponding rebates that can be earned upon reaching a “Total Qualifying Spend” and performing the “Rebate Eligible Transaction”:

6.3 Illustration on How to Get Rebates

 

  • I. Select your favorite bundle from Citi Mobile app.
  • II. Spend on your card on any merchant and accumulate “Total Qualifying Spend” as described above.
  • III. Whenever you do a “Rebate Eligible Transaction” on your selected Bundle merchants, you will receive the rebate against that “Rebate Eligible Transactions” equal to or less than the amount of “Rebate Eligible Transactions”.
  • IV. Rebate will be posted once “Total Qualifying Spend” and “Rebate Eligible Transactions” conditions are met.

 

  1. This Promotion is solely offered and sponsored by Citibank. The merchants and the offerors of the products listed above have no agreement or affiliation with, and have not sponsored, endorsed or partnered with Citibank in relation to this Promotion. Citibank may amend the above lists of merchants and products from time to time without prior notice. All trade marks and names belong to their respective owners. Citibank has the discretion to amend the list of merchants from time to time. All queries to the Promotion should be directed to Citibank. Citibank’s decision on all matters relating to this Program will be at its discretion and will be final and binding on all customers.
  2. We hold no warranty and are not representative of the delivery, services suitability, merchantability, availability or quality of the services or products included in the Bundles Options and we shall not be liable for any loss or damage in connection with mentioned products or services. All queries relating to the products or services should be directed to merchants or service providers in section 6.
  3. Upon enrollment to this Program, you agree to receive related servicing push notifications including but not limited to SMS and/or eDM. There are also push notification to remind you of your program fulfillment.
  4. Cardholders are recommended to keep and submit the relevant original sales slips or official payment records in respect of the eligible transactions for inspection upon request by Citibank. All documents submitted to Citibank will not be returned.
  5. Upon enrollment to this Program, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions that must be read in conjunction with the relevant cardholder’s agreement governing the use of the Card. In the event of conflict between these Terms and Conditions and the relevant cardholder’s agreement, these Terms and Conditions will prevail.
  6. The 30,000 quota is available on first come, first served basis, while quota lasts.
  7. We may amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without having to give any prior notice. We will notify you of any amendment via Citi Mobile App or any channels of communication, as Citibank deems appropriate.
  8. Citibank reserves the right to terminate this Promotion at any time without having to give any prior notice. All matters and disputes are subject to the final decision of Citibank.
  9. In the event that your Card account is closed for any reasons before the rebates are awarded, such benefits earned will not be posted into the card account.
  10. In the event of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.

 

 

  • Appendix

    a) Illustrative Example 1 – Spending on Eligible Merchant is More than the Maximum Rebate of the Corresponding Threshold

    On April 20, 2022, Customer Z spent HK$300 on Deliveroo (i.e. Eligible Merchant in EAT BUNDLE). Moreover, during the statement cycle from April 15, 2022 to May 14, 2022, he managed to achieve Qualifying Spending Threshold 1 of HK$5,000 on April 25, 2022 and Threshold 4 of HK$30,000 in total on May 5, 2022.

    Result: Once he accumulated the total Qualifying Spending to over HK$5,001 on April 25 and hit Threshold 1, he would be able to receive the rebate of HK$50 of his eligible transaction automatically within 3-5 days after the transaction has been posted to his statement. Furthermore, as he achieved Threshold 4 in early May, another HK$200 would be rebated to him. He can received maximum rebate of $250 when hitting Threshold 4.

 

  • b) Illustrative Example 2 – Spending on Eligible Merchant is Less than the Maximum Rebate of the Corresponding Threshold

    The statement cycle of Customer X started on 20th of each month. Customer X enjoyed listening to music and he has enrolled to the PLAY BUNDLE on April 10, 2022, which was before the start of his monthly statement cycle. During the one-month period, he spent a total of HK$12,000. He subscribed to the music platform of Spotify (i.e. Eligible Merchant of PLAY BUNDLE) on a monthly basis with a subscription fee of HK$60.

    Result: The Qualifying Spending of Customer X was over HK$10,001 (i.e. Threshold 2), and in ideal cases, he could receive a maximum rebate of HK$100. However, as the monthly subscription fee of Spotify was only HK$60, without any other Eligible Merchants in the PLAY BUNDLE during this period, he would only be able to receive a total rebate of HK$60 instead.

  • c) Illustrative Example 3 – Switching Bundle

    Customer X selected SHOP BUNDLE in previous month, and in early May 2022, customer X is expecting to have more food delivery in the next months. Hence, before the start of his next statement cycle on May 20, he has decided to further switch from SHOP BUNDLE to EAT BUNDLE.

    Result: For the statement cycle of Apr 20, 2022 – May 19, 2022, Customer X would be subscribed to SHOP BUNDLE. Meanwhile, even if he further updated his selection to EAT BUNDLE in the middle of current cycle (i.e. in early May), this new subscription would only be effective starting in the next statement cycle from May 20, 2022.
