Dirty Three – Horse Stories

I just picked up a copy, and all 4 sides are nice and clean. This must have been repressed at some point, surprising that 2008 copies are still kicking around selling as new in stores. The only thing newer is the yellow coloured vinyl version of this album.

Really nice pressing. I previously owned the recent reissue and both sound great, but this one is quieter with no noticeable pops or clicks at all. Recommend!

Sounds amazing, dead quiet vinyl, no pops or ticks and the instrument separation here is astonishing. Such beautiful music made stronger by yet another perfect reissue from touch and go records.

This sounds fantastic! Nice, simple package, with quality inner sleeves, and a pleasing yellow vinyl color. Dynamic sound, with no complaints. Don’t hesitate if it’s on your wish list.

I discovered this band through Nick Cave. The song "horse" was my first inspiration. I also really like "Sue s last ride" and "Hope". The C Side is to progressive and scruffy for me. All overall I give 4 stars!

Side C is VERY noisy. Surface noise and pops all along. That's a bit of a letdown for a truly wonderdul album.

Marked by Ellis' emotional fire on the violin and the restrained guitar work of Mick Turner; it's not hard to imagine each of these 9 songs being the soundtrack to some past event in the artist's life. "I remember a time when once you used to love me" whips up an epic tale of loss and regret that metaphorically builds slowly like a relationship, then explodes in a mesh of instrumental chaos. As with all DIRTY THREE songs, the interpretive powers that be are what makes their music so alluring.
