After the recent catastrophe, everyone is trying to pick up the pieces. Emily must live with the guilt of her actions and the weight of becoming a fallen angel, and Charlie must deal with her family and the past of the Morningstars. But they may not have much time to recover, because what happened is only the beginning of a chain of potentially disastrous events that could occur: without a strong king anymore and with a large part of the nobility out of action, Hell quickly begins to collapse into anarchy, and people like the Vees are ready to take their share. It's time for Charlie to start acting like a real princess... and she has to do it at the worst time ever. Meanwhile, Adam, in Heaven, is deeply conflicted about the profound beliefs he had until the day before, and finds himself having to manage further unpleasant personal situations... all while the suspicions that something much more serious and dangerous is on the way grow deeper and deeper in him.

Emily only wanted to help. Souls going to hell for their sins was one thing. It made sense, those who had done good deserved salvation and evil needed just punishment but indiscriminate genocide every year for thousands of years while keeping it secret was several steps too far. Redemption was now possible, what little justification they had for maintaining such a savage practice was now obsolete.
Unlike them, she would find a way to solve this problem peacefully... and that was reason enough for her to be banished.
Emily had been betrayed. Emily had been wounded. Emily had been captured.
At hell's mercy, Emily must come to terms with her fate, find a new purpose in this barren wasteland and not loose herself along the way

“Hello?” Charlie calls out warily. She isn’t usually so timid, but since the Extermination, her guard has been up. For all she knows, this could be a trick of some kind.
There’s no response.
“Stay here,” Vaggie says. She takes up her spear and goes forward to the crater. Her reaction to whatever is inside of it doesn’t take very long.
Just from where she’s standing, Charlie can see every muscle in Vaggie’s body tense up.
“Oh, fuck…”
That doesn’t sound good, and it’s enough to get Charlie moving. She rushes over. “What? What is it? What— oh dear god…!”
Well. She was half-right in her worries because there is an angel here, lying in the crater, but this is no Exorcist. And it’s not just any angel, either.
It’s….a seraphim.
When the angels cast Emily out, demons are the one to pick her back up.
