Premier League outfit, Newcastle United, have joined the pursuit of Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. Despite a season marked by injury, the 27-year-old played a crucial role in Leicester City’s recent ascent to top-flight status.
With Ndidi’s contract set to expire in the summer and uncertainty surrounding a possible extension, clubs such as Sevilla, Fenerbahçe, Tottenham Hotspur, and Galatasaray have been closely monitoring the situation. Now, Newcastle, along with Aston Villa, has expressed interest in acquiring the midfielder on a free transfer.
Newcastle’s aspirations to strengthen their squad, particularly in midfield, have been fueled by injuries and suspensions this season. Eddie Howe, eager to fortify his team’s competitiveness and secure European qualification, sees Ndidi as a valuable addition to bolster their chances.
