1954 GMC 100 5-Window Pickup for sale on BaT Auctions - sold for $36,500 on June 13, 2022 (Lot #76,019) | Bring a Trailer
This GMC New Design Pickup (1947-1955) got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1954 GMC 100 is a ½-ton five-window pickup that received a body-off refurbishment before the seller’s acquisition in 2015. The truck is finished in blue with a white upper cab and a reupholstered interior, and power comes from a 248ci inline-six mated to a Hydra-matic four-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes body-color 15″ steel wheels, an eight-foot bed, wood bed slats, a wrap-around steel Barden rear bumper, a spotlight, a two-speed heater, and Fenton headers with a split exhaust system. This GMC truck is now offered with an owner’s guide, maintenance manuals, partial service records, refurbishment photos, five 15″ split-rim wheels, and a Washington State title in the seller’s name.

The truck is said to have been refinished in Teel Blue with a Cascade White upper cab as part of the aforementioned refurbishment and features an eight-foot bed with stained wood bed slats split by body-color bed strips as well as Madrone wood bedside slats. Additional equipment includes a jet hood ornament, a spotlight, tinted glass, running boards, a wrap-around steel Barden rear bumper, and LED brake and turn signal bulbs. Noted flaws include a blemish in the paint on the right-rear fender as well as scratches inside the bed and atop the tailgate. The seller recommends refinishing the top bar of the grille.

This is a re-list after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in April 2022 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner has been banned from future participation on BaT and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.

Body-color 15″ steel wheels wear GMC-branded chrome hubcaps and are wrapped with 205/75 Venezia Classic 787 radial tires, which were reportedly installed in 2018. A spare tire is mounted on the left side of the bed, and the truck rides on a 125.25″ wheelbase.

The cab features a bench seat that has been retrimmed in blue and white vinyl with white piping. The body-color steel dashboard houses a lockable glovebox and a 12-volt inverter wired to a socket, and additional equipment includes a two-speed heater, lap belts, and rubber floor coverings. The seller notes that the AM radio is inoperative.

A three-spoke steering wheel frames an 80-mph speedometer, a clock, an ammeter, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles. The speedometer was reportedly refurbished, and the odometer is said to have been reset upon completion of the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.

The 248ci inline-six features a single downdraft carburetor with an electric choke topped by an oil-bath air cleaner. The truck retains a 6-volt positive-ground electrical system. The vacuum-operated wiper motor was rebuilt in 2015, and an oil change was last performed in 2021.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a rebuilt Hydra-matic four-speed automatic transmission. The frame is said to have been powder-coated black during the refurbishment, and the truck is equipped with Fenton headers and a split exhaust system.
