This could be harsh of me, but I found in Bruges to be choppy and confusing. It felt like the film didn't know what it wanted to be half the time, whether it was meant to be taken seriously or comedically gave me total whiplash. The amount of violence in this film coupled with the overly-sarcastic and pessimistic performance from Farrell left me wondering what I was meant to feel. Whilst the ending, with Fienes' character coming into the picture, is much more enjoyable, Farrell's acting was, for me, very off the mark. And the developing romance he establishes in so hard to believe... I don't know about this one.
