Great coworkers, but not management

Publishing in general doesn't pay well, and Yen Press is no exception to this. It's not enough to live in the city the job is located in, the benefits of health insurance and 401k are only okay, raises and bonuses are extremely minimal. Management has lofty expectations of what is considered satisfactory work and guilts you into going out of your way to overperform for nothing in return besides av...

Growing company

Yen Press is growing and they seem to be working well to adjust to the growth and changes. I was trained well and have room to ask questions to my manager whenever I feel like I am struggling. I feel there is great work life balance (have not worked overtime much at all) and there are opportunities to volunteer for cons and enjoy the content. I enjoy working with my coworkers as well!

Colleagues are great, but poor management

The job is very stressful, barely any benefits from the management. Turnover rate is quite high, a raise isn't expected. The pay is very low, you're expected to do many tasks at once, and scolding from management happens often. Colleagues are great, they go out their ways to help you on any questions you have. If you want to pursue a publishing career, I prefer you look else where.
