Three of us visited the park on 16 June 2021. We knew it had a 2-mile trail to walk on and I knew it had a bird park as well. We were lucky in that there was a little flee market going on that day. One of the girls with me brought something for her granddaughter. The park was a very nice place and we felt safe. We walked the park, saw the different birds and took some pictures by/of the artwork. This was a very pleasant way to end our day. If back in the area, I would visit it again.

My wife and I love to walk along the lake or around the 2 mile jogging trail. There's also a pretty good disc golf course, many beautiful open natural spaces and plenty of space for organized or disorganized sports

Wonderful place to spend time with the family. We spent the afternoon flying kites and throwing the frisbee.

Wonderful Christmad lights in the park! Only $5 per car. Music, food, characters, kids activities. Don't miss this annually!

The lights are beautiful. But; I was disappointed in the completely secular display. There is no recognition of why we celebrate Christmas
There is a menorah and not one nativity. I recently attended the Festival of Lights in Natchitoches louisiana and there is a beautiful nativity. Lafrenier park has taken a completely secular approach to their Christmas lights. How disappointing

Went to a soccer tournament here and liked it quite a bit. The fields were in good shape and parking was good. They had several really good food trucks on site for a quick bite to eat. There is a covered carousel that only costs $1.00 to ride. There are ponds with chickens running around. It also has a playground for the smaller kids.

You can't beat this family friendly holiday outing! I enjoy it even more than Christmas (excuse me, Celebration) in the Oaks. Affordable for all families at just $5 a car. Tons of lights to drive thru and walk thru and view. Plus every year they add to the display. Carousel rides and hot chocolate are an added bonus! We have gone every year and enjoy it very much!

The older we get, the more visits we make to Lafreniere. The grandchildren love to visit the ducks, geese, roosters, and turtles. That bridged portion of the park is kept very clean. The playground areas are well maintained. The walking/exercise paths are really nice and enjoyable. We attend the social events like the Christmas lights show, and the Fourth of July event.

I had a terrible time this year the way they handled it was horrible they changed it up and you had to go trough security To get into the park , then you could not bring any food are drinks into the park , come on really Jefferson parish , they made me empty the baby’s sipping cup out and toss his lunch out , I will not be back next year I will find another place to celebrate with the kids !!! Save yourself time don’t go

It has been a while since I came here. When I do, I always wonder why it has taken so long o come back. There are things to do, if you wish. You can always go to another section and just read or relax. There are walking paths, dog parks, ducks to feed, soccer fields, a carousel to ride. Snack bar, snowballs.

It is easy to drive to either via Veteran's Blvd or W Napoleon Ave. Do you have an address? Also City Park towards New Orleans is also very pretty.

we will be staying at a hotel near the airport. How far away is it from the airport, and do we need transportation to get there?

Lafreniere Park is a little over 5 miles from the airport. So not within walking distance. Rent a car or take a cab. I would suggest rent a car and get around and see all the sites.
