About “New Miserable Experience”
The breakthrough album by Arizona power-popsters Gin Blossoms featured the hit singles “Found Out About You,” “Until I Fall Away,” and “Hey Jealousy.” The latter tune was written by guitarist Doug Hopkins, who was fired for alcoholism just before sessions for the LP wrapped. Hopkins committed suicide in 1993, right as the group was finally starting to take off.
