Lovecraft Country is a horror drama television series developed for HBO with an intriguing cast. Based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Matt Ruff, Lovecraft Country premieres August 16, 2020. Here is the cast and where they've appeared before.

Lovecraft Country is about Atticus Turner and his family living in 1950s America during the Jim Crow era. Atticus joins his friends Letitia and Uncle George on a road trip where they will encounter both racism and horrors inspired by the work of H. P. Lovecraft. Interestingly, Atticus is a fan of science fiction literature, and his knowledge of classic authors such as Bradbury, Heinlein, and Asimov help to frame his experiences.

Jordan Peele is reported to have brought Lovecraft Country to the attention of J. J. Abrahms' production company Bad Robot. Peele then enlisted Misha Green to develop the show. Jurnee Smollett As Leticia "Leti" Dandridge

Jurnee Smollett plays Atticus's friend Leti, who joins him on the road trip as they face terrors both racist and monstrous. Smollett is an American actress who has been acting since she was a child, appearing in television sitcoms such as On Our Own and Fullhouse. She has since had starring roles in Friday Night Lights and True Blood. She has also been cast to play the character Black Canary in the DC Extended Universe, making a small appearance so far in Birds of Prey.
