Without Remorse is an Prime Video original based on the Tom Clancy novel of the same name. The 2021 movie, which Sheridan co-wrote with Will Staples, stars Michael B. Jordan as John Kelly, a Navy SEAL whose team is targetted in retaliation by a group of terrorists whose schemes they'd foiled months earlier.

Although Prime Video had hoped to cash in on the buzz surrounding Taylor Sheridan's other works with this project, Without Remorse wasn't the massive hit that it could have been. The film is overall a very by-the-numbers action thriller with little to distinguish it from any other movie of its genre, save for a terrific performance from the always outstanding Michael B. Jordan. Nevertheless, the film successfully launched a new franchise, with a second film based on Clancy's Rainbow Six novel greenlit in 2023.

12 The Last Cowboy Is A Fun Reality Series

On the heels of his popular series Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan continues to contribute to the Western genre with The Last Cowboy, a reality series that gives viewers an inside look at the cutthroat world of horse reining competitions.

Contestants compete for a $1 million prize, training throughout each season to defeat their competitors and go home with the highest marks. While the series is interesting for those who are fascinated by the enduring cowboy culture, it may not appeal to those who solely enjoy Sheridan's work in fiction.

11 Those Who Wish Me Dead Wasn't As Well Received As Sheridan's Other Projects

Those Who Wish Me Dead tells the story of Hannah Farber, portrayed by Angelina Jolie, a smokejumper in Montana who finds herself tasked with protecting a young boy whose family has been targetted by a pair of assassins tied to a much larger conspiracy. In addition to Jolie, the film stars Finn Little, Jon Bernthal, Aidan Gillen, Nicholas Hoult, and Tyler Perry.

This film is somewhat unique in Taylor Sheridan's filmography, leaning more heavily into action than his other projects. While Sheridan proves himself to be a competent director, Those Who Wish Me Dead isn't particularly memorable otherwise. 10 Sicario: Day Of The Soldado Wasn't As Good As The Original

After the success of the original film, Taylor Sheridan wrote a sequel to Sicario entitled Sicario: Day of the Soldado. The action-thriller follows Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin's characters from the original film as they investigate a terrorist plot that leads them right back to the drug cartels on the American-Mexican border.

While Day of the Soldado includes some worthwhile action, it pales in comparison to its predecessor. Previous lead Emily Blunt and director Denis Villeneuve are sorely missed in this sequel which fails to capture the same deep character drama that made the original Sicario such a standout film in the first place.

9 Special Ops: Lioness Delves Into The Espionage Genre

While Taylor Sheridan's original series typically focuses on the criminal element, Special Ops: Lioness jumps to the other side of the law to focus on CIA agents. The show follows Laysla De Oliveira's Sergeant Cruz Manuelos, a new member of the CIA's Lioness program who is given a special assignment to thwart a terrorist organization.

Although Paramount built up Special Ops: Lioness's premiere quite a bit, the series didn't garner the following that anyone had hoped for. The show was criticized for its lackluster plotline and unmemorable action scenes. While there are some positives to the series, it is far from Sheridan's best work.

8 Mayor Of Kingstown Is A Terrific Crime Drama

Taylor Sheridan continues his fascination with the crime genre with Mayor of Kingstown, a Paramount+ original starring MCU actor Jeremy Renner. The series focuses on the McLusky family, which runs the company town of Kingstown, keeping the peace between law enforcement, street gangs, and every other brand of criminal running loose therein.

Mayor of Kingstown has been a massive hit for Paramount+, featuring some of Jeremy Renner's finest work in the last decade. While audiences have been particularly fond of crime thriller, critics aren't quite as impressed, though the series saw an uptick in its second season.

7 Tulsa King Is Off To A Terrific Start

Created and produced by Taylor Sheridan, Tulsa King is a crime comedy starring Sylvester Stallone as Dwight "The General" Manfredi, a lieutenant in the mafia. Coming off of a lengthy prison sentence, The General is assigned to the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where his boss hopes to expand his business. There, Manfredi begins to build a new criminal empire.

Taking notes from other successful crime series like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad, Tulsa King offers viewers a gripping exploration of the underworld. Although the series is not as strong as Yellowstone was in its first season, it has plenty of potential to become one of the best crime series on television, especially with a second season well on the way.

6 1923 Is A Solid Prequel To Yellowstone

The second spinoff of Taylor Sheridan's hit series Yellowstone, 1923 explores the story of another generation of the Dutton family in the early 20th century. Starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, 1923 weaves the story of Yellowstone into the major events of the early 20th century, including the Great Depression and the continued massive expansion in the Western portion of the United States.

While not as beloved as 1883, the spinoff is still a masterclass in compelling character writing, just as audiences have come to expect from the Yellowstone franchise. Unlike the preceding spinoff, there are plans to continue the story of this generation of the Dutton family shortly. 1923 will receive a second season as well as a sequel series of sorts in the forthcoming 1944 spinoff.

5 1883 Is The Best Spinoff In The Yellowstone Franchise

1883 takes the Yellowstone franchise back in time to the late 19th century as the ancestors of the Duttons journey west to where they will eventually settle the family ranch in Montana. The Duttons and their troop are led by Sam Elliott's Shea Brennan, a rugged cowboy who understands the danger of the trail ahead.

1883 is undoubtedly the best Yellowstone spinoff yet, telling a tight and emotional story in the span of only ten episodes. The show shines as a result of its stellar cast, with Elliott making for a particularly strong lead alongside co-stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Isabel May, and LaMonica Garrett. Although 1883 never received a second season, it still stands out as one of the strongest series in the Yellowstone universe--and in Taylor Sheridan's filmography.

4 Hell Or High Water Got Academy Award Buzz

Hell or High Water is a 2016 crime thriller set in the Texas frontier, following two brothers, played by Chris Pine and Ben Foster, who are on the verge of losing their family ranch.
