What’s Inside: Songs From Waitress

Released on November 6th, 2015 as Sara Bareilles' fifth studio album, What’s Inside: Songs from Waitress serves as a concept album presenting some of the songs from her, at the time, upcoming Broadway Musical, Waitress. The lead single for the concept album, “She Used to Be Mine” was released on September 25th, 2015.

Bareilles decided to record the album because, as she told The Hollywood Reporter,

“It proved impossible for me to imagine handing over the songs to the show before selfishly finding a way to sing them myself.”

The album debuted at number ten on the US Billboard 200 Chart. It sold 30,000 equivalent album units, 27,000 of which were from pure album sales. This marks Sara Bareilles' fifth Top Ten album.
