Mark Wahlberg has been rocking a lean, sculpted six-pack for decades now (there are those of us who still remember the Calvin Klein ads, not to mention the Funky Bunch) and if his social media is anything to go by, it doesn't look like those abs are going anywhere.

Wahlberg, age 50, went shirtless while playing a round of golf in a new video on Instagram which he posted on Cinco de Mayo this week. "Good workout," he says in the video, before taking a generous swig of tequila in honor of the holiday. "No protein shake needed," he adds.

One of the actor's go-to ab-training exercises is the hanging leg raise, which he has performed on Instagram before. It's a highly effective movement because your core is already automatically engaged when you're in the hanging position. Then you're using your abs to flex—hard—in order to then raise your legs up high. The aim here is not to get your feet up to your shoulders at any cost, but rather to focus on executing each rep with good form and ensuring you're recruiting the muscles you're supposed to be.

Wahlberg's lean, ripped physique is made all the more striking when you remember the body transformation he underwent a matter of months ago: he gained 30 pounds in a single month by eating a minimum of 7,000 calories every day in order to play the title role in the film Father Stu, in which he was almost unrecognizable. Since then, he has renewed his commitment to his workouts—and the payoff is clear.
