I fell in love with this movie back in the early 90's and after having it on VHS for years I was glad to see it on DVD so I could add it to my collection. I love the storyline but the chemistry between Eric and Beverly is amazing. Eric is the sexiest conman you'll ever see and would make any woman wanna be taken in by him. If you haven't seen this I suggest you check it out! It's very old but has withstood the test of time. I can't believe this movie is over 20 years old!
well this is amazing i saw this movie in laserdisc long time ago it was during i think 109 mn so i bought this dvd and it is during 2h24 mn so i watch imdb it is written 109 mn so this is an integral version well no subtitles the image is not so good but ok but this movie is so good eric roberts is at his best in it and bevrly di angelo too so it is a great pleasure to watch it and above all an integral version
Apparently, I recieved the John Travolta film of the same title and I enjoyed that one. I don't know this film version because I didn't receive the right film. By the way I enjoyed the John Travolta film based on a true story.
The quality was awful. There were so many lines and flickers throughout the movie it was not even watchable. The movie was interesting but the quality was terrible.
O.k. i know us ppl can get spoiled at times with the dvd age but there are movies thats begging for release on disc. This film lonley hearts is begging this is a lil known gem from 1992 everything about this film is perfect the actors and actresses are flawless. Ok lets go on with the story Eric Roberts is a con man and a playboy he seduces women and take there money but beverly d'angleo decides she wants too fall in love with him. But she fall so deeply in love with him she ends up killing him in the end i'm just gonna leave at that cause i done gave away too many plot spoilers already. Ok lions gate release it plz a.s.a.p.
One of the better films of its genre, "Lonely Hearts" follows sad-sack Alma (Beverly D'Angelo) as she falls for con-man Frank (Eric Roberts) and proceeds to become his partner in crime. As the victims add up, Alma becomes more paranoid and Frank more desperate. Much of this film is unintentionally funny - just wait until you see Roberts parading around in a skimpy Speedo that he has no business wearing or watch Sharon Farrell's bad acting as poor duped Louise. Longtime fans of "The Young snd the Restless" will recognize Rebecca Street who sports the same pathetic personna she had on the Soap. You will also cheer when she buys it late in the film. As for the leads, Roberts makes a good bad boy but is outshone by D'Angelo, a great actress who never gets her due.
Rare but lame mid-nineties t.v. film. Hard to freely fetch on the web, the cost of this DVD is currenttly way too high for its content. What beautiful human being will put it on some torrent or streaming site? That would be an illegal move... but selling this crap for 30 $ on amazon is not? Who are we kidding, here? Those who liked Eric Roberts in Star 80 will find him quite ordinary in this far fetched (thus unofficial) adaptation of the Fernandez - Beck story (see the Travolta starring Lonely Hearts of 2006 for that).
