Overall itin – Takeo onsen > Karatsu > Yamaga onsen-go > Yufuin (2n) > Beppu > Matsuyama (2n) > Fukuoka (3n)

I've been thinking about staying at Takeo Onsen on my next visit to Fukuoka, and I love the looks of Mifuneyama Kakuen Hotel. It looks like a wonderful ryokan. The hotel in Karatsu looks great, too.

We're lucky to have a clear sunny day while driving to Karatsu and dropping by the terraced fields. On the morning prior to our landing in FUK and the day after leaving Karatsu it rained.
Mifuneyama Kakuen Hotel - the building itself was quite dated without any lift just stairs. So better bring carry-on bags in case you stay. Amenities in rooms, dining and onsen areas are fine though.
