Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- FOTMMUnited States3,761 contributionsWe visited on a Saturday and it turned out to be a free community day, so there was no cost for entry, which was a welcome surprise. The home was beautifully maintained and the game rooms in the basement were a hoot to tour. The staff were extremely knowledgable about the art and, for a modestly sized collection, it was full of treasures. Be sure to stick around for the organ performance.Written 9 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Pat S20 contributionsReally fun and informative. The people at each building were excellent. We really enjoyed seeing the items made the old-fashioned way. Training young people in these old techniques is great. Pretty gardens, too.Written 23 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She really enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit. - Beth FWinston Salem, NC4 contributionsI absolutely love Salem Lake! It is about 7 miles to do the entire loop around the lake! You can jog, walk, run or bike the lake! I must say it’s one of my favorite places to walk in town. The trail is very well maintained and there are signs to show you mileage.Written 9 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roy CWhispering Pines, NC995 contributionsWhat a wonderful experience! This large park, with plenty of walking trails, a historic cemetery and reconstructions of the fort and some of the other original buildings, is most definitely a must-see! All restorations and ruins have small signs describing what one is viewing as well as quotations from various diaries and papers of the original founders, Moravian Brethren who immigrated for religious freedom.
There is plenty of parking. There are absolutely no fees. There is a large garden with most of the plants identified. And if there are few enough people so he is not overly taxed, the blacksmith will make you a free garden hook for hanging plants while explaining blacksmith techniques.
As of this month, June 2022, masks are still required inside the visitor's center, but they have a box full, so you do not have to bring one.Written 10 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lia HBogota, Colombia1,076 contributionsThe Reynolda Gardens are part of the Reynolda House, which is part of Wake Forest University. They function a bit like a park, free to the public open from morning until about 6 pm. There is plenty of parking in different places and you may walk around freely around the gardens, the trails, the shops. Dogs are allowed (on a leash). You will see plenty of people exercising, walking their dogs, families with kids. There are different trails you can take around the garden, and the estate. You can even cross the road to the Graylin estate, which is also part of WFUWritten 22 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin C1 contributionDuring my fall break, I had the pleasure of visiting the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art Museum which left a lasting impression on me. First, the open and serene ambiance of the museum provided an ideal setting for a leisurely exploration of its art exhibits. What struck me the most was the museum's spacious layout, which allowed me to savor each artwork at my own unhurried pace. I ended up staying for almost 2 hours walking in from the front door and traversing all the way to the end of the museum, visiting every artwork. The tranquility of the surroundings added to the overall experience, creating a relaxing atmosphere for visitors to spend time with family and friends. On top of that, the museum's lighting technique further detailed each artwork which made me really appeal to the artworks. Lastly, the outside space of the museum is also gorgeous, it is a perfect time to visit during autumn. Although I am not an admirer of contemporary art, I would definitely visit this museum again!Written 15 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - carlosdieppaMiami Beach, FL786 contributionsTruist Field is a great venue for College Football, we where in town for the Wake Forrest vs. Lousville game and it was great.
Tailgates are a lot of fun and a big part of the college game day.
Buy your tickes in advance if you want good seats, also not super easy to buy them the same day.Written 10 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. What a great collection of NASCAR history in their collection. It's sad to see them forced to close as a result of big corporate. I wish them the best in the next chapter and highly recommend checking it out before it closes.Written 26 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
