about

“It's a killer progressive rock disc with solid jazz tendencies” warns Gary Hill in Allmusic. For their second album, the four musicians - Tony Hymas, Terry Bozzio, Hugh Burns and Tony Coe - who have travelled extensively in music alongside Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, Stan Getz, Michael Jackson, Wham, Henry Mancini, Jack Bruce and Dizzy Gillespie, didn't worry too much about the genre the album would fit into, even if often described as tighter than the previous one. There's a new version of Quanah Parker (cf. Oyaté by Tony Hymas) “which will stay with you long after your listening”, writes Gary Hill, two tracks inspired by the Middle East (the band was born during the Gulf War), a furious "Kill King Rat", a strange "March past 29 378 145 B", a tribute to a muse, and a dreamy conclusion.

about

nato records Paris, France

Founded in 1980, nato records quickly constituted a puzzle with all sorts of openings without any other restriction than that of producing meaning, that of a music living with the world. More than a puzzle, an island perhaps, made up of passionate encounters, which made Francis Marmande write in Le Monde "The most original production of this time" (Sept. 10, 1992). ... more
