Minecraft Survival: The Ultimate Guide to Start Your Survival Journey

All you need to know before beginning Minecraft Survival Mode.

Minecraft is one of the most popular games to date and it's sandbox style of gameplay has mesmerised players all over the world. Minecraft has learned and has grown over the years and the veterans understand the small intricacies of the game. It can be a little overwhelming for new players as there is a vast amount things that they need to know. In this guide the players will learn what they need to begin their Minecraft Survival journey.

Wood

The first and the most valuable resource in Minecraft is Wood, the players should gather as much wood as they can as it will help them construct more tools such as a crafting table, pickaxe, sword and more.

Crafting Table

A Crafting Table is extremely necessary and it will provide the players with an influx of numerous recipes they can try out. Most of the items in the game need a crafting table to be crafted. In the crafting table the players will receive a 3x3 resources field in place of the 2x2 one. To craft a Crafting table all that a player needs is to add 4 planks in the 2x2 resources field in their inventory.

Food

Food is important for survival everywhere, even in Minecraft, so the players should cut down any animal they see. The players should also gather coal to cook their food and this can be done by mining near the top layer, going too deep will invite trouble from all the bloodthirsty creatures in the world of Minecraft.

Headquarters

The next thing that players need is a headquarters or base of sorts, this area will be used to store all the resources, tools and constructs the player has made. The player can either create a beautiful house for themselves or just use an open area to store all their belongings, the choice theirs.

Farming

Then the players should move on to building farms, this can be done in a 9X9 area and the players can place one water block in the centre to power the farm. For seeds, the players will have to break down flowers and fruits in the game to gather seeds.

The players should also build a cow shed and start breeding them. They should dig a 7X7 area and cover the borders with fences, players should also create a carpet so that they can hop out of the setup. Then all they need is cows, this can be done by dragging cows with a rope or enticing them to follow the player with wheat. Once they have entered the cowshed, feed them wheat to begin the breeding process.

The players should also build an egg farm, this can be done by placing a chest and hopper on top of it. Cover the borders with glass and lead the chicken into the hopper. Feed them some crop to get them to mate and voila your egg farm is ready.

Diamonds and Mining

Once all these setups are done, the player can then move on to collecting more valuable resources in the game such as redstone, diamonds, gold and more. The players should mine for these resources deep into the ground, below layer 16 is advisable. They should also follow mining techniques such as caving or branch mining to mine efficiently.

The players should be alert and not mine too deep as harmful lava pools start popping up near the bottom. Collecting resources such as diamonds and obsidians will allow the players to craft a diamond pickaxe and nether portals which will help the players with more efficient crafting and easier travel. These are all the things a player needs to being their Minecraft survival journey.
