I was an in a crowd scene in a movie she was in, reproducing Elvis's Tupelo concert. At 2:00 am, Ms Madsen had to get the crowd fired up. Before she went on stage, I saw her smoking a cigarette, looking like she wanted to be anywhere else in the world but the Tupelo, MS fairgrounds at 2:00 o'clock in the morning. But when she went on stage, she seemed excited and peppy and really got the crowd going. I realized then that Virginia Madsen can *really* act.
Always a big fan of her.
I think she got better looking as she aged

Ten year old me had a huge crush on her when this film was released.
Me too at age 14 had read the books but was not prepared for the big screen.
She played the part well. Beautiful, graceful, talented and lacking awareness.
