Review: Fresh from his appearance on Boujee's recent Banged Up VA earlier this year, ES returns with some potty-mouth party-starters. 'Vulgar' says everything you need to know as the bassline oozes out of the speakers in a strange woozy way. Elsewhere 'Collapse' goes for the jugular with its big sweeping bass stabs and 'Gambit' is all about the bars, the grot and the drama. Two collabs follow; R!PT!DE links in for the brutal funk of 'Vigil' and StillZ chimes in on the finale with the disarming vocal / tear-up jam 'Aura'. Serious display of power.
Gray, Ozone & Diagnostix - "No Face No Case" - (3:19) 175 BPM
Gray & Donae'o - "Can't Put Out My Flame" (VIP) - (3:18) 174 BPM
Gray & A Little Sound - "Twilight" (Comedown mix) - (3:10) 136 BPM
Review: You're through to the party line, head down to vibe central and await further instructions. Gray has us covered on 'Digital Nomad'. A really interesting concept inspired by free parties, it features some absolutely huge collaborations such as Donae'o on three different cuts, and an insane MC tear-up with Doktor, Spyda and Inja all on one track (the epic 'Run & Hide') and some grizzly bassline action that's going to pop this festival season as he links up with the likes of Ozone and Diagnostix on 'No Face No Case'. Ending with a cool UKG twist on his and A Little Sound's 22 dreamer 'Twilight', this is a really cool body of work.
Review: SND & RTN brings it home on this new EP for Lempuyang that explores their signature techno depths. 'Palantir' opens with fathoms-deep dub and ice-cold synths that snake their way over the face of the track, while 'Hyperdrive' has rumbling chords and smeared pads that keep you on the ocean floor and 'Dub Conjurer' allows in a little more light from the surface with delicate shards piercing the murk. 'Tales From The Outer Rim' shuts down with a nice gentle rhythm that undulates beneath rippling pad work and works well as perfect early evening warm up.
Review: We can't tell you much about Glory To except that this is the first of two EPs he/she/they have lined up in collaboration with vocalist Mariella Doriano. In its Original form, 'Caught Me' is a light and summery slice of soul-dance-pop, with a breathy, wistful-sounding vocal from Ms Doriano and some subtly-applied parping Hammonds. Ben Jamin beefs up the drums but strips away some of the other layers on his more immediate and driving pass, Jimmy Allen opts for a slightly smoother, jazzier ride while the EP's completed by the more straight-up soul jam 'Storm So Long'.

Review: Much like Part 1, B292, Part 2 is expected to be brimming with influences from the golden age of drum and bass, mirroring the first part's focus on innovative sounds and raw energy that defined the genre in the early 90s. Expect a vibrant mix of pounding basslines, intricate breaks, and all the energy that characterizes classic drum and bass, presented with a modern twist.

Review: B292, Part 1 is the first half of a sprawling project by drum and bass artist SB81 (aka Shaun Bateman) on the legendary Metalheadz label. This release marks the biggest offering from Metalheadz yet, with a total of 29 tracks split across two parts. Part 1 is expected to capture a strong influence from the early days of drum and bass, drawing inspiration from SB81's own experiences growing up and the sounds that defined the genre's pre-1994 era. Labels like Reinforced or Moving Shadow are mentioned as key influences, suggesting a return to the raw energy and experimentation that characterized those early years. However, the description also emphasizes that B292 isn't simply a trip down memory lane. SB81 assures listeners that the music retains a fresh, contemporary feel, ensuring it will sound cutting-edge alongside its nostalgic core.
