My HP Photsmart 8250 has new ink but it still shows: "Ink System Failure. The ink system has failed and can no longer print.Refer to printer documentation. Error 0xc18a0206. Turn printer OFF then ON."
I did turn it off and then on and that did not fix the problem. I have an HP Pavillion dm4 Notebook. Windows 10 Home.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Riddle_Decipher, is at your service (Like a Genie, however, without magic powers) 😉
As I understand your printer isn't working due to an error - "0xc18a0206",
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Do you get this error message on the printer screen or on the computer screen?
- Have you tried to perform a Hard reset on the printer?
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
- Remove the cartridges from the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website.
For more assistance, on the printer firmware upgrade, please follow this link: HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Please follow all the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Printers - Resolving Printhead Problems and Ink System Failure
Let me know how that pans out
I will have a colleague follow-up on this to ensure it's taken care off,
as I need to know if the issue has been resolved, to get proper sleep at night.
feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon,
followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution' as it would help the community gain more knowledge,
And Have a great day Ahead!
