More or less one of the most insane cashgrabs that George Clinton ever attempted, in 1993 he reached deep into his vault of live-recordings from his multiple bands to put together a sort of live-best-of for Parliament, Funkadelic and the All-Stars. What did he end up with? A whopping four disc five hours boxset consisting entirely of live-material, a project he would re-release a year later with a changed tracklisting. Now, I could break down every disc on here and how it works, but in the end, I had to ask myself a couple of questions. Firstly, is every song I would hope to be on a live-best-of for this collective on here? Yes, yes indeed every song you could wish for is here. How are the performances? Fantastic all throughout this massive brick of a release, really just absolute top-tier stuff that George pulled out of the vaults. There's so many great vocal performances, solos, fills, you name it, that it is impossible to name them all. He really wanted to give us the best of the best, and he did, until the material kinda stumbles in spots on the last disc. But even then, this is five hours of impeccable performances, what do you want more?

Editing is for weaklings, sometimes you just gotta do the George Clinton and put out whatever you want. This is not made for one continuous listen in the slightest, but I would lie if I said that this wasn't an extraordinarily consistent batch of performances. This really just hands it all to you in one package, and if you want one project to show you all sides of their performances, this is it. Check it out if you're curious, it really is that quality.

George Clinton digs through his tape collection for this rather massive 4 tape set of Live material from his various bands. Sounds not bad at all and this has brought my ears plenty of joy as I drove from spot to spot playing all four tapes. Well worth your time and money if your a fan of the Clinton bands, or if your a bargain shopper like me (got it for $5 new!).

There's some excellent stuff here but, there's a lot of filler as well. If your a hardcore funkateer and you can still find this pick it up.
