Macon County High School Reviews
Rating 3.27 out of 5 148 reviews
Macon County High School is a great school if you are looking to participate in extracurricular activities. Since it is a small school all the students are close to each other and have great relationships with the teachers. I feel as thought I have made a family at MCHS through my peers, teammates, and teachers. Also, MCHS is very accommodating to every demographic and is prepared to help students become college and career ready.
Some teachers do not have the courtesy or patience for the job or the involvement that is required. An English teacher is suppose to be open and willing and helpful when a student encounters a crisis or needs help getting their homework or even questions answered. Then after the student gets their assignments completed it should not take a teacher weeks to months to apply the students grades in the system which in turn could ruin that students chance at the college of his or her dreams and ruin their future they had been working for 4 years on to succeed at. And then to blame that child for their GPA dropping and calling that students parents without a full explanation and cause a riff that might not be repaired.
While in high school the best parts have been dual enrollment classes and the teachers for those classes. The worst parts are a few new teachers that don't teach you anything.
