TWO separate Kingston 4TB XS2000 drives…

TWO separate Kingston 4TB XS2000 drives (expensive) have failed within months. Drives contained important backups which in one case I lost. I have had FOUR friends who have had similar recent problems. I believe something is badly wrong with hardware or firmware. I could not get firmware for MAC to upgrade. Would for now avoid Kingston SSDs

Kingston 4tb ssd

Kingston 4tb ssd: failed after 4 mo---"disk-dismount error". 4 other acquaintances have had similar experiences with this unit. Company has sent a new one, but refuses to do data retrieval--which is unacceptable to me. They have acknowledged "firmware" issue.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT AND ALL OTHER MEMORY PRODUCTS THAT THEY REFUSE TO DO DATA RETRIEVAL ON.

Unreasonable long initial waiting time…

Unreasonable long initial waiting time for an answer from the Support. Lack of real commitment to help in a dire situation, when a Kingston backup device ceased to function due to a then presumed (and later proven) hardware failure. The feeling of been left out in the cold, with no one else to turn to. Not much of support...

Kingston Ironkey Locker +50 data lost

Kingston Ironkey Locker +50 failed on me and all my data was lost. I plugged it in one day and was met with the account set up screen. Spoke to Kingston to try and fix it but all my data was gone. After years of using Sandisk with no issues, this kingston item failed in a approx 2 months. Returned to Amazon for a refund.

Unreliable products and customer service

Bought a NV2 1TB SSD at the beginning of 2023 and it just randomly failed after less than 4 months of use. Contacted customer services to get help with data recovery but they had no care whatsoever, but were eager to send a replacement and told me just to throw my faulty unit away like it was general waste.

Kingston does not care that I have lost precious data, they do not even acknowledge or want to investigate the sudden failure of the drive. They just said that it can happen.

To anyone thinking of buying a Kingston product, if you want cheap quality, cheap customer service and a guaranteed way to lose your data, then go for it.

ram change

i purchased faulty RAM that didn't perform at the specified power. After reaching out to customer support and answering a few questions to verify the situation, they sent me a new set of RAM completely free of charge, without requiring the return of the defective ones. I am more than satisfied, and I'm truly grateful for their kindness!"

I bought a Kingston NV2 NVMe SSD and wish I hadn't.…

I bought an NV2 NVME solid state drive which failed less than 3 months after I bought it. I duly returned the failed item. A week later, I contacted Kingston inquiring when I could expect a replacement and was told they were out of stock and that there had been a lot of replacements needed for this product.

Rather belatedly, I searched for reviews and found the comment 'cheap but risky' - which describes the product perfectly. I asked whether I could pay the difference and upgrade to one of their higher quality items. They refused.

Don't buy this drive and be careful when dealing with Kingston.

Kingston was allways one of the MOST…

Kingston was allways one of the MOST reliable choices. It seems they lost on quality last decade, however (in my opinion) they still do quality products, just a little bit overpriced.
I'm giving a 1 star less because of prices and quality (some fails with SSD's and not every product is such flawless ultra high quality like before)

Bad quality product and poor support.

First time buying kingston SSD. I normally buy Samsung but was attracted to the performance and value of the KC3000 SSD which unfortunately arrived faulty. Would not initialise.
I talked to a tech on their 1800 number and was asked to send photos of front and back of drive plus troubleshooting evidence. The email address given was Taiwan ....com.tw. They never acknowledged or responded to my email. I chose to return to seller and will not buy a Kingston product again.

Very prompt service. Good warranty.

I had issues with 2 of 3 USB memory sticks I bought about 3 years ago having only used them a coupe of times. I emailed Kingston Customer Service this last weekend, received a prompt reply on Monday and confirmation on Tuesday with a promise to replace the 2 defective units. I have a concern that they failed in the first place but was re-assured that Kingston have effective warranties.

After less than a year

After less than a year, my Kingston ssd failed, but this is not where I had a major problem. My problem was when I filed an RMA request, and after saying they would answer within 2 days, it has been 5, and they never responded to my second email either even though apparently they are supposed to provide
"immediate assistance". I still have yet to get a response.

A reasonably good company.

Like few have said already, site maintenance at times can be a pain, but overall their products and customer services are great. This is especially with products such as memory and storage which also have lifetime warranties.

I liaised with them in regards to constant bluescreens with 'memory management' error messages, I ran the memory tests required, and replacements were sent as quickly as possible after receiving the memory from me. Great and quick service.

A fine USB memory at a decent price

Almost exactly a year ago, I bought two Kingston USB memories labeled "128GB".
The label is lying - the capacity is 115 GiB, equivalent to 123.7 Gigabytes, NOT 128.0 Gigabytes.
Another problem is that I cannot plug in the two USB memories next to each other into my laptop, as they are physically too wide to fit. I can plug in one of them in one of the slots - or the other one in the other slot. But I cannot plug them in simultaneously - not without carving away a piece of the plastic (which is exactly what I've done).

As a comparison, I bought a "16GB" SanDisk USB memory a few years ago.
The capacity of that memory is 14.905 GiB, equivalent to 16.004 Gigabytes, so that label is correct. The male USB connector - the plug - of the SanDisk USB memory is all made of plastic. With the wear and tear over the years, that memory USB has started to fall apart.

The Kingston USB memories, on the other hand, have their plug made of steel.
- After one full year of daily use, they show no sign of deterioration.

To sum up, I'm very happy with these Kingston USB memories, but I don't give five stars because of the mislabeling.

Refused a refund on a non-delivered item

I ordered some RAM and it was lost in transit. Despite accepting that the item had been lost, Kingston flat out refused to provide a refund, claiming it was my responsibility and forcing me to reclaim the money back from them through my card provider. It took two and half months to do this. Utterly appalling service from a terrible company and I'll never use them again.

An object lesson in excellence.

Excellent customer service from Kingston - I would specifically mention Mr Troso of the customer service department as a shining example of how to go about turning a potentially negative situation into a very positive experience.

My four year old RAM failed. Four years old.

One 'phone call, a couple of emails asking for and replying in regard to details and a request to return the failed modules - and I received new RAM.

That simple, that straightforward.

As it should be, and so rarely is. Perfect score, Kingston. Thank you Mr Troso.

Awful Service - Buy Elsewhere

Ordered a SSD using their online compatability checker for my Acer Aspire X1930 desktop computer. Paid for 24 hour tracked delivery which was a waste of money as it took 3 working days to be delivered by Royal Mail their delivery service.
It stated the SSD was fully compatible however this is not the case. The SSD was too small to securely locate where the original HDD was fitted. The 4 securing screw holes were smaller than the securing screws used in the original HDD and as no securing screws are supplied with the SSD. Luckily I had one spre screw from a previous old laptop that I could use. If the SSD was compatible it should have been a straight swap over. I requested a call back to discuss this issue again using their online system but this was never received leaving me with no option but to secure this with one screw which is not ideal.
The SSD works but time will tell if its reliability is as awful as its misrepresentation of compatability, awful delivery service and zero customer service support.

HORRIBLE packaging

ONLY reason I am giving this company 2 stars is because the headphones work and my husband likes them. I am 100% disappointed in this company and how my product was delivered to my doorstep. The box was so destroyed that the headphones were exposed and the ear piece was slightly damaged. Luckily my husband was able to fix the earpiece and wanted to keep the headphones. Does not make me any less happy about how my SIXTY DOLLAR headphones were shipped to me. I will not be purchasing anymore items from this company.
