      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

With a promising premise, handsome locations, and a well-known character, The Lost Symbol has all the pieces necessary to be an addictive addition to Robert Langdon's story - if only the show's flat writing and strange pace didn't undermine all that potential.

Kristen Lopez indieWire "The Lost Symbol" feels like something you'd watch on Saturday morning cable when the remote is lost, though Peacock might be hoping to secure fans of the "Librarians" franchise, too. Sep 20, 2021 Full Review Dan Fienberg Hollywood Reporter You have a show of very handsomely designed interiors - museums, galleries, Masonic temples and whatnot - and then actors squinting and explaining. No matter how outlandish the topic of the discussions, there isn't enough oxygen in the room to sustain. Sep 15, 2021 Full Review Stephanie Morgan Common Sense Media By now we all know what to expect from Dan Brown offerings (i.e. relentless iconography and historical references, a healthy dose of danger, and some seriously ominous bad guys) -- this series delivers on that promise. Rated: 3/5 Aug 10, 2022 Full Review Frederick Blichert Android Authority A surprisingly welcome reboot of a franchise that seemed to have already been tidily wrapped up. Feb 11, 2022 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz Despite a fractured narrative... events move at a fair clip, an engaging, easy mix of puzzle-solving and danger dodging. Dec 8, 2021 Full Review James Delingpole The Spectator It quickly plummets into your bog-standard, formulaic Dan Brown storyline in which Langdon is a helpless prisoner of a contrived, all-constraining plot. Stephen M Ok series. The book however is amazing. These shows as usual go completely off script. Missing the entire point of the story yet again. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/24 Full Review Yolanda T I really enjoyed this Tv series, episode 1-3 was pretty slow at first but it pick up after. I do think that's it's alittle different than the book and I'm a huge fan of Dan Brown books. But I would love to see where season 2 would have gone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Edoardo C always the same stuff how long they want to milk that cow? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/23 Full Review William H pretty mid, doesn't really follow the book but is worth a watch. It's a tv show at the end of the day so can't compare it to the films but it isn't half bad just don't expect it to be similar to the source material. it's a good watch either way. However, Sato isn't anywhere near what she could have been, wasted potential there. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review fc réseaux s Very disappointing compared to the movies but the script is still good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Some good acting, some low-budget production. Should have either been a bit more intriguing, or 2-4 episodes longer.. or maybe both.
