I think that they could add more choices for courses. They could also add some more college readiness class and courses for people interested in them.
Wasilla High School was a great high school compared to its competitors. They are very inclusive and provide a massive amount of activities for all students. The teaching staff were great and very helpful. All around a very good high school experience.
I loved the atmosphere at Wasilla High School. The teachers are super great and very welcoming. When I moved there and knew no one the teacher were very welcoming and kind to me and didn’t push me to do too much when I first moved which was super great for me. Leadership students were super supportive and friendly as well!
When I transferred from my previous high school, they made the process easy. And the reason I transferred was because my previous school was unsafe for me. Wasilla High School created a safe environment for me where I developed wonderful relationships with my peers and the staff and teachers. They are very personable here and almost all of the teachers and staff are there for students 100% of the time. The academics are much better than my previous school and I feel as though I'm really being pushed towards my true potential. The resources they have and the organizations really have brought the school together to become a sort of community. Specifically the JROTC program. I highly appreciate the instructors and previous instructors. The cadets in the Corps are like family to me, and I don't know where I would be without this school.
I love Wasilla High the school! The staff is very involved in the students life’s helping them succeed at any and everything in life. The schools student government is also beautifully set up, empowering students to make changes they see fit and needed. This empowerment prepares the next generation of voters and politicians. Some things that could be changed are the physical aspects of the school. Due to the schools old age some of it is very outdated and is in much need of being updated.
Like everything, developing your education and becoming a better person is up to you. With that being said, wasilla high schools staff made this process more enjoyable and helped me push myself throughout my highschool years. This school has room for change and is always willing to do so if it means the betterment of the student body. For what it's worth, I am proud to have been a Warrior.
I graduated from Wasilla this year and I loved choir and piano class, and doing the musicals. This school has a lot of options when it comes to extracurricular activities and they offer a lot of AP classes as well. I love the teachers there and the administration was really good except for a few things during the end of the year.
The teachers are some of the nicest and most genuine teachers I've ever had. They truly want you to succeed. There is always going to be anomalies to that but they are overwhelmingly like that. The administration may have their faults but that's more to do with their relative inexperience than actually competence. The academics could do with some improving and the focus on AP courses can overwhelming for some people.
Wasilla High is a very inclusive high school with many opportunities for the students to get involved with the community
I love the independence Wasilla High has given me. I would change the availability of classes and what classes Wasilla High offers because I feel like they do not prepare you on how to be an adult because they got rid of their adulting classes.
At Wasilla high school there are some very good teachers and some terrible teachers. I'm guessing this is a common problem throughout the education system in the US.
I absolutely love the school, Wasilla has amazing teachers. All of the staff members try their best to make sure their students are doing their best they possibly can. With covid they really stepped up even when they were unsure about what they were doing.
My first year at Wasilla High was during my 10th grade year. I enjoy the High School although I did not experience a good Spanish class my first semester there. We had to bring in a picture of someone that passed away, which I brought a newspaper article of a picture and an article about my great grandpa. I didn't want to leave it there, which I told her, since I didn't want it to get lost. She promised nothing would happen to it, until I go in their to ask for it back and she tells me, "I might've thrown it away." That whole experience is the only thing that frustrates me about Wasilla High School. Other than that the teachers are very reasonable and will help you in any way that they can.
My favorite thing about WHS is the relationship between students and staff. Staff members put a lot of time into getting to know their students on an individual level, and it has resulted in a mutual respect which makes the school feel a bit like a family. The staff works hard to give every opportunity to students to succeed and thrive, and it has created a safe, encouraging atmosphere. Especially with the new principal- Mr. Marvel, the school is moving in a more and more positive direction.
Welcoming environment and amazing teachers! Great programs and education. The administration is new and great, their addition definitely makes the school a more productive place.
Wasilla High School offers a rounded education with excellent staff that take the time to make sure you are learning. You feel like you are in traditional high school when you go here. I'm also extremely fond of the music department, especially the musicals that happened every year.
During my time at Wasilla High School I have enjoyed how caring and genuine the teachers are. If I could see one thing change at my school it would be that they add more classes that prepare me for college and real life.
