This Jesus & Mary Chain Live In Concert features 2 separate concerts on one CD containing 19 Tracks in all, the first show in 1992 and 2nd in 1995. There's enough guitar fuzz & distortion to keep fans happy (you Want that sound; it's a big part of JAMC!), while still being able to clearly hear William & Jim Reid's guitars & vocals - Thankfully! It's extraordinarily difficult to capture all, or even "best of" The Jesus & Mary Chain, even with 2 concerts, on 1 CD. However, this is an excellent representation captured here, with solid setlists for each concert and the Reid brothers have "Caught their own Fire"!!! It's a BBC recording on Strange Fruit which is soundboard & sounds fantastic, presenting The Jesus & Mary Chain at their finest!! Nobody groans on a song like Jim can, turning pretty lyrics sleazy, adding to the distinct 'charm' of "dirtying up that early 60s American pop vibe", and it's special to have William, the master songwriter, taking a turn with some live vocals here, too!

There are so, so, so many releases, reissues, compilations & B-side compilations, as well as various live recordings. To do it simply (because it can become overwhelming if starting from scratch): Get this (Best live recordings & on 1 CD!! At least 1 JAMC live recording is necessary!) and the simple (not deluxe) reissues of "Automatic" & "Honey's Dead"...simply put, JAMC at their finest & easiest way to get the biggest bang for buck! So, crank up the volume & prepare to hear some of the Best garage/punk-rock ever recorded by a band who seamlessly blend The Ramones & Phil Spector & maybe just a hint of The Velvet Underground to create a sound which is uniquely their own & which influenced many a band thereafter...the inimitable JESUS & MARY CHAIN!!
