From the looks of it, it's a 4 player game. It has more of a realistic tone to it. can't tell what era it is though.

Hard to tell, even the turtles themselves are only glimpsed (they seemed to look pretty weird, kinda like the new cartoon, but with tiny, more "realistic" heads). I'd wager the bad guys are the Foot clan since it seems pretty down to earth (but who knows for sure).

Let's hope it's better than Turtles in Time Reshelled.

That game got removed from psn and xbla, which to me is a bloody crime, even if the game was bad ( eight way attacks? what the heck for ) theidea of digital games being removed from ever being downloaded again rubs me wrong.

here is hoping for something similar to turtles in time

Hell yeah, about time to get hyped for the good looking TMNT game.
If there will be co-op mode it would be awesome. And I am personally very glad, that it seems unrelated to new Nickeloeon toon (which I don't like at all because of visual style and character's design).
Would be better if the game would come out on blue ray discs than be just a downloadable game, but whatever.
I really hope this one will be decent. TMNT Smash-up was a major dissapointment. Hope this one rocks. Hype everyone :)

EDIT: After rooting some info - the game is being developed by Red Fly Studio (the creators of "Thor - the god of thunder"), so my hopes were...decreased a bit.
Omg, please activision, don't fail on this one :(

even if the game was bad ( eight way attacks? what the heck for )
It was?

sortof, it was entertaining, but they added eight way attacks that changed the whole gameplay, you know how in scott pilgrim you attack and you are either attacking left or right?
In the revised gameplay you had to point directons to attack, and that included attacking up or down.
so you couldnt really hit group of characters unless they were all lined up. It was a shift that made it play a bit weird.
Maybe bad is an exageration, it wasnt what could have been with such great material.
http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/tmnt/tmnt5.htm

they could have adapted even the bits from the snes era game into it.

The eight-way attack was the least of that game's problems.
What was the biggest? It's like the elephant in the room, no one wants to talk about it.

It plays like a 3D game because it's a 3D game. It feels a bit floaty and fast ... but it's pretty much the same game I played when I was 11 or 12, just cooler looking. I really REALLY don't see what the problem is.

I play regularly 1989 TMNT, Re-Shelled and The Simpsons Beat'em up. TS is the most simplistic one, to the point that it's boring (but apparently Iced, and the guy who wrote the article believe that attacking only front and right is desirable and makes a better game). TMNT 1989 is glitchy as shit. I've gathered a co-op party of 4  several times, and only one time I didn't get the no continue glitch.

Out of these classic 4 player co-op games, re-shelled is the one that's the best experience, and yet, it's apparently universally regarded as probably the shittest game. Maybe I'm playing it wrong or something, I actually think it's pretty neat.

right now im just happy that it's out of Ubisoft's hands first and foremost..........now it's activision's turn and if they can't give it justice then just give it back konami seriously......i mean the best interpretations of the series have been done by konami so far and as much as i love for companies to tell their story or put a different spin on it...........it hasn't been a much of a good game since it left konami's hands.....just saying.

I mean take konami's TMNT 2 Battle Nexus and ubisoft's tmnt reshelled, tmnt smash up, and TMNT..........it's sad that not one of ubisoft's games can measure up to even one of their konami's games

I hope activision comes through

You really should re-read that article. :|
I read, it says why it was removed. I dont have to like it.

For parties I find Castle crashers to be the best for four player action.  :) I fucking love 4 player games.

Besides feeling like it was potential left untapped and the eight way attack ( and walk ) being really awkward I dont have anything else to point at it. Like I said, the attacking motions only going towards one of the eight directions spoiled the immersion I got from the game in a way that didnt happen with scott pilgrim, castle crashers or any other old school beat em up. ( simpsons is kindof boring yeah, its probably not considered worse because of when it was out, nostalgia is a saving throw for most of those games, re shelled doesnt have nostalgia to protect it which is why you will find more criticism of it ) .
Another interesting one was the x-men old arcade game, but its so simple that it hurts. Its fun because you can have six players going at it. its a blast.

Even double dragon ( although it is 2 players and not four ) managed to have 3d graphics and keep the two  way direction attack thing going smoothly.

What was the biggest?
It's more of a "small bad things aggregating into badness", rather than one big bad thing, so it's hard to say. There's the floatiness, the general feeling of looseness in the controls, the new music, the lack of the SNES levels (the latter two were unavoidable of course, but that doesn't mean they're not still problems), and the visuals just being a murky, muddy mess. The turtles don't pop anymore, and fade into the background, which is a big no no for beat 'em ups. I guess that's probably the biggest problem, but if it was the only one I don't think it would ruin the game. But with all the other problems, Re-Shelled just feels off and not very good.

I read, it says why it was removed. I dont have to like it.
But you made it sound like you didn't know! :P

Yeah..especially the graphic and the music was damn superior on the Genesis...  :bomb:

More or less the gameplay was the same.

It was fluid on the arcade and genesis, and stiff in the SNES.

They tried to keep that feel in the re-shelled remake, but it ended up feeling a bit floaty.

What happened to the rumor of Rocksteady (the folks that did the Batman: Arkham franchise) working on a TMNT game?

Director of Rocksteady, Sefton Hill said they were NOT working on it. So, it was just a rumor. Sad story, really.
