After announcing ‘Dostana 2’, Karan Johar, in 2021, announced that he will be recasting the film and will maintain a ‘dignified silence’ on the matter. Ever since, reports have been rife that the film fell apart due to a fallout between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan.
Post the incident and of late, both Karan and Kartik have met each other graciously in several occasions when they cross paths. The duo are currently at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. In a video shared online, Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan were seen speaking about ‘Dostana 2’.
KARAN, KARTIK TALK ABOUT ‘DOSTANA 2’, WORKING TOGETHER
Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan are representing India at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Addressing the media, KJo and Kartik were asked about working together, more specifically a ‘combo movie’. Karan laughed and replied, “We made one attempt and for various reasons that didn’t fructify. We have been in conversation to do something and I hope that does happen.” And Kartik replied, “I hope there is no chatgpt involved, hopefully.”
When asked about ‘Dostana 2’, Karan replied, “Ask no secrets and we’ll tell you no lies”, as Kartik laughed along.
WHEN KARAN PRAISED KARTIK
Karan Johar was all praise for Kartik Aaryan at the festival. He first joked about how Kartik might end up getting married with so many proposals coming his way and then went on to laud him. He said, "Kartik's films have deeply resonated with the country and has always brought in so much fervour back to the cinema halls. More power to him. May his contribution to cinema always continue. Well done, Kartik."
Work-wise, while Karan Johar's return to direction with 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' was a huge hit, Kartik Aaryan will now be seen in Kabir Khan's directorial 'Chandu Champion', Hansal Mehta’s next titled ‘Captain India’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’
