i'm continuing on the theme of progressive folk music and this is a very fine specimen of that genre blend i mean come on the singing and songwriting is some of the most beautiful i have heard in a really long time, it sounds like such a dark album while also sounding like one of the most beautiful things you will hear and i really love that blend personally. i love the length of each track on this album, to me a lengthy track feels a lot more important than a 2 minute song so i appreciate the ... read more

'Stormcock' makes good on the promise of 'Flat Baroque' and finally delivers on Harper's full array of talents.

These lengthy explorations stay focused and consistent throughout, with each twist or turn sounding well earned.

The highlight is the closing 'Me & My Woman' which gets my vote as the closest to perfection the man ever came, though 'The Same Old Rock' isn't too far behind.
