When Margaret Beaufort was born on 31 May 1443, in Bletsoe, Bedfordshire, England, her father, Sir John Beaufort 1st Duke of Somerset, was 39 and her mother, Margaret Beauchamp Duchess of Somerset, was 38. She married Edmund Tudor 1st Earl of Richmond on 1 November 1455, in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales. They were the parents of at least 1 son. She died on 29 June 1509, in London, England, at the age of 66, and was buried in Westminster Abbey, Westminster, Middlesex, England.
