The Xavier Musketeers picked up their second transfer commitment of the week on Thursday and their seventh of the offseason.On Thursday, former Boise State guard Roddie Anderson III announced on social media that he will play for Sean Miller's Musketeers in 2024-25. A 6-foot-2 guard out of Huntington Beach, California, Anderson began his college basketball career at UC-San Diego, averaging 13.1 points and 3.8 assists per game for the Tritons as a freshman.After one season there, Anderson transferred to the Mountain West Conference, joining a Boise State squad that won 22 games and reached the First Four of the NCAA Tournament last season. Anderson appeared in 33 games for Boise State, averaging 6.5 points, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game.The commitment from Anderson marks the second transfer pickup for Xavier this week, with Miller's squad adding former Florida State forward Cam'Ron Fletcher on Wednesday.In addition, guards Ryan Conwell, Dante Maddox Jr. and Marcus Foster are set to play for Xavier next season via the transfer portal, while new forwards John Hugley IV and Lassina Traore also chose the Musketeers after entering the portal.Those players will join a returning core led by point guard Dayvion McKnight, guard Trey Green, forward Dailyn Swain and two players who missed last season due to medical reasons, Jerome Hunter and Zach Freemantle.Xavier's leading scorer last season, guard Quincy Olivari, is out of college eligibility, while second-leading scorer Desmond Claude transferred to USC.Xavier's 16-18 record last season represented the first time since the 1995-96 season that the Musketeers finished with a record under .500.According to 247Sports' transfer rankings, the Musketeers currently have the 24th-best recruiting class going into next season.
