The professors at the University of New Mexico are outstanding. They share so much wisdom and insight into the field, and are very supportive of the students.
I enjoy the other students, all coming from very different backgrounds. Race, age, interests, ambitions, etc.
The campus itself is beautiful. The scenery and study spots are top-tier. Five star for sure.

University of New Mexico (UNM) is a beautiful campus. It comes with a duck pond, where many students study, take naps (me), and enjoy the scenery. UNM has amazing professors that will work with your situation, as well as TA's, and come with a lot of tutors if you still need the extra help. I am not much of a partier so I could not rate the party scene and all of that jazz, but from what I have heard if you like to party you will not be disatisfied when you attend here.
The treatment of students as the number one customer stood out as they went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable around campus. They showed a genuine interest in my business administration degree plans. The campus areas are clean and graffiti free. The dining areas and food service areas were all clean and well kept. The campus grounds were carefully landscaped as to render a feeling of peace and quiet. Natural growing plants and trees were abundant on campus grounds. I am impressed with the large library and what it has to offer. Diversity is another attribute this campus affords. It embraces all cultures and showcases the uniqueness of cultures.
The University of New Mexico (UNM) stands as a beacon of diversity, academic excellence, and innovative research. UNM commits to diversity and cultural inclusion which creates a rich diverse community. As UNM continues to grow and evolve, it focuses on intellectual growth, cultural understanding, and community engagement, preparing scholars for the thriving and changing world. UNM plays a crucial role in the local community and beyond. Locally, it contributes significantly to the economy through job creation, research, and development initiatives. UNM fosters international collaboration and exchange through various study-abroad programs and research collaborations. These initiatives enrich the academic experience for students and broaden the university's impact on global issues. UNM has changed my outlook on community issues in the Navajo Nation and the local Albuquerque community. I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience from Professors at UNM.
The University of New Mexico is welcoming, diverse, there's always someone willing to help. It really feels as though every person there cares about your success
Overall, it’s a decent university. As a resident of New Mexico, I get the Lottery and Opportunity scholarships, meaning that (if I play my cards right) I can likely graduate debt-free. However, financial aid makes it a struggle to get those scholarships. Financial aid is the worst. The safety is ok. It’s in ABQ, so lock your car and take everything out of it. Campus security is severely lacking. They’ll call in the state cops for protesters, but barely give a warning if they see some guy with a knife wandering campus. The academics are pretty good for a state school. Most of the professors are nice and will help you if you have a problem.
The University of New Mexico is a well-respected institution known for its diverse academic programs, vibrant campus life, and commitment to research and community engagement. . The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various disciplines, allowing students to pursue their academic interests and career goals.
One aspect that I often praise about UNM is its strong sense of community. The university offers numerous opportunities for students to get involved in clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities, which helps foster connections and friendships among students from diverse backgrounds.

The professors and classes are the best for half the price of a typical college education. UNM, though is very sketchy, considering it is one of the top 5 most dangerous campus in the US.
Great learning environment, PD isn't always reliable during needed moments and is say things are over priced but for a public 4 year university, it's okay.
My experience has given me the impression that students safety and mental health is the lowest concern of the school. It appeared to me that the campus cared more about their reputation and making money off of their students. The professors work very hard and help the students the best they can depending on the teacher. Safety of the students belonging and physical health is not looked after as much as it should be. This year alone there have been countless lobo alerts of people with knifes on campus stabbing students in the parking structures. UNM’s solution to this problem is these blue pole things where you can alert the police but in most cases you will not have enough time to stop and make a report. Many cars have been broken into this year and on social media I have seen many cases of people getting their dorms raided, bikes stolen and clothes taken from the washing machines in the dorms.
Overall being a student at UNM was terrible. It’s very clear to myself and many others that this school does not care about the general wellbeing of its students and only about the money it can obtain from them. Education was poor, the parking is awful, there are constantly stabbings on campus, etc… Would not recommend to anyone who’s considering attending this university.
I lived on campus for my first year of college at UNM while I took pre-reqs for the college of nursing. I had a great time with friends, campus life and classes. Upon acceptance to the college of nursing I no longer lived on campus, but had a great academic experience.
Discover a campus with a warm and inclusive atmosphere, brimming with thrilling research and scholarship prospects. Embrace a community of supportive peers and find your new home away from home. Welcome to the Land of Enchantment, where every individual is embraced as a Lobo!
The Accelerated Online program has been a blessing for me as I am able to work and go to school both full time. The instructors are very nice and understanding of busy schedules. I am able to have a life outside of school. Each class is very informative and I am having a great time!
The University of New Mexico has allowed me to be confident in the major I have chosen. I have changed my major three times and each time, the advisors are super helpful in helping guide me to make the right decisions to stay on track. The professors have offered many helpful tools to succeed in their courses. UNM also offers many oportunites to be involved in campus life while having diversity. The only bad thing I can say about UNM is the saftey aspect of the campus. They have implemented many safeguards on campus with on site police. However, due to the dangers in the city of Albuqeurque, there are still many incidents that compromise saftey. Overall, my first year has been a good experience with the University of New Mexico.
At the University of New Mexico, I embraced a new environment far from my California roots. The cultural shift was initially jarring, but I quickly found my rhythm and thrived. My time there was marked by academic growth, especially in my pursuit of a BS in Biology. Overall, my experience at UNM was transformative, broadening my horizons and shaping me into the person I am today.
The University of New Mexico has a great campus. It's in the middle of the city, but it feels like a separate space, with beautiful statues and nature, good food options at the SUB, and an easily walkable space. However, it's not too far from a bad area of town, so while you're generally safe on campus, you still have to watch out for crime, especially on the outskirts. Campus life, parties, sports, etc., are enjoyable but not anything special. The academics have been pretty good as well, and I've liked most of the teachers here.
