A man is dead after a hit-and-run crash on Dixie Highway, police say. Louisville Metro Police say they responded to a crash around 3:30 a.m. Thursday in the 7800 block of Dixie Highway. That's in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood. When police arrived, they found a man dead in the road. Witnesses say they saw a passenger vehicle hit the man before fleeing the scene. Police were later able to find the driver and identified him as Kevonte Liwain Mitchell.Mitchell was charged with leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid, operating on a suspended or revoked license and failure of owner to maintain insurance.He's booked at Louisville Metro Corrections. The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating.
