The good news is its Fear Factory...the bad is that its a single...but with a Dvd. Good for collectors. I drove my friend crazy listening to the cd over and over. Good songs but I still say get the entire cd.

"Bite The Hand That Bleeds," as presented here, is a unique CD-Single/DVD combo. The single is supported by a DVD featuring all of the videos shot (up until now) for Fear Factory's most recent album, "Archetype." If you bought the album when it first came out, you most likely got the bonus DVD, which features the "Cyberwaste" video. Well, it appears again here, but personally, I never tire of it. It's a strictly performance video, but very effective, capturing the powerful nature of Fear Factory's music perfectly. Following it up are three alternate videos for the second single, "Archetype." We can choose from either the version in rotation on Fuse/MTV2, a stricly performance version, or an anime version. The original version is high concept, much in the same vein as the "Resurrection" video from a few years back, while the performance version is similar to the "Cyberwaste" video. However, the anime version, as inspired by the film "Galerians: Rion" is for the remix version (also found on the 2003 "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" soundtrack) and comes off a bit cheesy. Frontman Burton C. Bell is pasted into the foreground of the animation and it just comes off as cheesy. "Bite The Hand That Bleeds" was released in conjunction with the thriller "Saw" and features clips from the movie, along with the band playing out a similar situation to the plot of the movie (again, this comes off a bit tacky). The CD part only features the title track. I have to wonder why there are no b-sides or a remix of some sort. But, nevertheless, it's a good package for any Fear Factory fan. It's very rare to see a FF video these days, and to have them on this DVD (even if some are a bit cheesy) is worth the price alone.
Being a completest collector of Extreme Metal, I had to buy this Single as I love Fear Factory and have done so since "Soul Of A New Machine". I have enjoyed the progression of Fear Factory over the years even if at first I didn't like the remixes, but they seem to have grown on me like a fungus. I love to see visual interpretations of songs in video form as it adds a new dimension to my musical experience and Fear Factory have done it again with the videos on this CD/DVD single. The single has two discs, a CD single with 2 tracks on it and a DVD disc with 5 videos on it. The videos are high quality, professional and innovative pieces of "Cyber Art" and are highly entertaining. There is even an Anime video of the remix of "Archetype" which is amazingly done and really entertaining. This single is not a stop gap or filler release but an essential part of the "Archetype" experience and must be seen to be believed. If you love Fear Factory you need to own this gem period!!!
