Easy Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Know it sounds funny, but I just can't stand the pain
Girl, I'm leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me, girl, you know I've done all I can
You see I begged, stole, and I borrowed, yeah

[Chorus]
Ooh, that's why I'm easy (Ah, ah, ah, ah)
I'm easy like Sunday morning, yeah (Ah, ah, ah, ah)
That's why I'm easy (Ah, ah, ah, ah)
I'm easy like Sunday morning

[Verse 2]
I wanna be high, so high
And I wanna be free to know the things I do are right
I wanna be free, just me, oh, baby

[Chorus]
Oh, ooh, that's why I'm easy (Ah, ah, ah, ah)
I'm easy like Sunday morning, yeah (Ah, ah, ah, ah)
That's why I'm easy, yeah (Ah, ah, ah, ah)
I'm easy like Sunday morning

About

Genius Annotation

Cover of the Commodores song, albeit ommiting a verse. The band started playing it in concerts to replace a version of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs”, in part to spite the audience. While everything in Patton-era FNM has a jokey thread, “Easy” was performed straight because “it gives the band memories of our childhood”.
(and they later did another cover of lighter stuff with “I Started a Joke” by The Bee Gees)

“It feels really good to have a couple of thousand of people flipping you off. Just to see the number of middle fingers go up when we went into ‘Easy’ was amazing.
-Billy Gould
