Blackmagic camera app flashing exclamation mark

PostWed Oct 11, 2023 2:17 am

I started using the Blackmagic app with my iPhone 14 and keep getting a flashing exclamation marker when I start recording. I started with 4k Prores 422 30fps and went down to H.265 in HD with the same results.
Any ideas what might be going on? I'm using the latest version 1.1

How much storage do you have left?

My iPhone has about 100GB available. I first started using an lightning to SD carder reader for extra storage so I assume the issue was with the transfer speeds of the card or connection device. I isolated it to recorder directly to my iPhone and still have the same issues.

If it's over the record button, it's indicating you are dropping frames

I have had the same experience. I use an iPhone 11 with the latest iOS version and record to the internal memory.

I have noticed that in my case it happens when:
a) Stabilisation is activated. If I turn it off completely, no frames are dropped.
b) When I record at higher frame rates. If I record at 30 fps, no frames are dropped.

With version 1.0 of the camera app, it was possible to switch off the HDMI feed. When I did this, I also had no dropped frames.
