Smart Regions: EU funded cancer detection device helps to save lives

Researchers from the University of Latvia and Riga Technical University have developed a device that, due to its small size and ease of use, will be convenient to use in doctors' offices for early diagnosis of skin melanoma and other types of cancer (basal cell cancer, squamous cell cancer), postoperative scar monitoring and timely recognition of tumour relapse.

€90 million Cohesion Policy call reinforces urban innovation across the EU

Green interventions in Czechia and Poland thanks to JTM PSLF

The European Commission is co-financing 3 projects aimed at promoting sustainable urban infrastructure and improving the energy efficiency of public buildings to the tune of EUR 7.3 million under the Public Sector Loan Facility (PSLF) of the Just Transition Mechanism (JTM). The three projects were submitted under the 5th cut-off date of PSLF, which is a blending facility that combines loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB) with grants from the European Commission to support a fair and just transition towards climate neutrality across the European Union.
