Not muddy anywhere. Mostly flat with a steep finisher. Immersed in nature kind of trail. Quiet and peaceful

Very muddy at the moment and if you don't have wellies, you have to add another hour to the walk as there is a part that is so waterlogged you can't pass it.

Perfect walk, well marked, great for dogs. Cross two roads, but easily marked and seen to put the dogs back on the lead

Enough to see. Hadleigh castle is a good place to recover from the hill at the end of the route.

The coastal side of the walk is very windy on the bank, don’t recommend walking that side to Benfleet if you walked from Southend to Leigh already - the view from Hadleigh Castle was gorgeous though, you could see all of Canvey island

Shit flat trail. Came here for the first time and not coming back again. This shouldn't be called mountain trail. Completely misleading. Shame for this app

A nice relaxing and easy route, didn't realise it was going to be so warm and took the dog with me so had to cut in half but very peaceful and scenic

Lovely walk, took the dog, walked into Old Leigh, stopped for a drink. Definitely take water for your dog & yourself (would hope this goes without saying!) Definitely going to walk this again.

Great walk if you walk the opposite way starting from Leigh station and walk to the left of the gold driving range. Just check that the Salvation Army’s tearoom is open before climbing the hill up to it!! Mind you, the views from Hadleigh Castle are fantastic, so it’s worth the hike up there!!

Very boggy behind leigh station this time of year. Very difficult to walk in and definitely need appropriate water proof boots this time of year. But really enjoyed it and even though it’s not that far a walk, the terrain makes this a moderate to difficult walk IMHO.

Really interesting, estuary backwaters, working farmers fields, cross a field with cows in and cross over the railway track, up to Hadleigh Castle ruins where its perfect to stop with refreshments and feel a real sense of accomplishment (very steep climb up to Castle!!) and chill, before descending and ending up back at the station. And there in the station is a coffee shop selling COLD drinks coffees and food!

It was a great walk with great views. We went when it rained so it was REALLY boggy. Take spare shoes!

A great dog walk, including a level crossing and cattle field where dogs must be kept on a lead. Quite muddy and rutted in places. Access to the mountain bike centre.
