'He's different'... Kieran Trippier shares what Bruno Guimaraes is really like in the Newcastle dressing room

Newcastle United have a superstar on the pitch in Bruno Guimaraes, but Kieran Trippier has admitted that the midfielder is very different off it.

Bruno Guimaraes is often Newcastle United‘s talisman, and he has been one of Eddie Howe’s best players during what has been a tough campaign. It could have a positive ending though, with the Magpies currently favourites to finish sixth.

There is also an outside chance of Newcastle coming fifth, which would delight players like Bruno. He has worked so hard this season, doing all he can to avoid injury and suspension. The latter was a big problem, with Bruno spending so long on the pitch being just one yellow card away from a two-game ban.

But Bruno did it, whilst still maintaining that aggression. He is a ferocious player, but is also classy in possession. The 26-year-old has got the lot, and that is why Eddie Howe believes that he really is world class.

Bruno Guimaraes is a winner on the pitch for Newcastle United

Bruno is an absolute winner on the pitch. He is someone who will do whatever it takes to come out on top. He has an elite mindset that has allowed him to become one of the best players in Europe, and someone who the biggest clubs in the world want to sign.

The Brazilian is a target for Arsenal, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain right now, all of which are aware of his £100million release clause that becomes active later this month for just a few weeks.

If they sign Bruno, they are signing a top class midfielder who can dictate games and dig in when required. He is not afraid to get stuck in, which has resulted in him picking up 14 bookings in all competitions this season.

Kieran Trippier shares what Bruno is like off the pitch

But the Bruno we see on the pitch is very different to the one off it. That is according to Kieran Trippier, who has been speaking to the TNT Sports YouTube channel about his Toon teammate.

Trippier was asked about the team spirit at Newcastle United, admitting that they are like a family – but ‘if anybody steps out of line then they will get told’. He was then asked to name the player who might make that mistake.

“I would say Bruno,” he said.

“Bruno likes to play a lot of jokes. He’s a very funny guy.

“When he plays, he’s different. He’s very aggressive, but in the changing room he’s so funny.”

Bruno great off the pitch for Newcastle too

Not only is Bruno an incredible player for Newcastle United, it also appears that he plays an important role behind the scenes. Trippier’s comments explain why Bruno is so popular among his teammates, and it is not just because he is a Brazil international who can do incredible things with a ball at his feet.

He is a great person, as well as a great player. The Magpies have great spirit and unity within their group – as Trippier says, they are a family. Bruno encapsulates this, loving life as a Newcastle United player on and off the pitch.
