I am a current senior for the class of 2024 and I have attended Alpena since Kindergarten. Alpena has given me every possible opportunity to succeed and grow as an individual. I have never felt as if I have not been prepared to go into the real world. If I could change anything about Alpena it would be the limitation on clubs and different activity’s available. Because Alpena is small district it does not offer a lot of the clubs, sports and activities that other schools offer. I believe that if Alpena had more opportunity we would grow as community.
All in all Alpena is a very good high school and I can recommend it. I am there as an exchange student for 1 Semester. The people are very friendly and the teachers are very good. I would wish the school would offer more schools like football and soccer.
I have gone to Alpena all my life. I love the small school atmosphere because you can form personal relationships will all your teachers and most of the school since it's so small. There are less than 400 people in the town of Alpena and about 500 students in K-12. Sure the food isn't great and there is regular high school drama but overall it doesn't matter all that matters is that the teachers are great and most of the people that go there are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and both students and teachers will make a long-lasting impact on your life.
