I think this sounds just fine. Not exactly a hifi record to begin with. I wish Waxtime wouldn’t put contemporary reviews on the back though, ruins the illusion of it being an LP from 1962.

Incidentally, I do wonder what percentage of the hundreds of thousands of discogs reviewers who say “original is better” actually have heard an original.

My copy sounds great and was well pressed & flat. I really enjoyed this performance as you can hear some of the anger that was going on while this was recorded. I'm not sure you will find this album sounding better than this. Personally, I would recommend this.

Musically, one of my favorite Tone Poets, which is unfortunate because it may be the most sonically inferior of the series. Regardless, worth having and playing often, IMO.

Fabulous collection. The extra tracks are cute, especially A Little Max (Parfait) which I know I’ve heard somewhere else but can’t place. No one ever reviews these CD reissues, I guess everyone agrees the sound is flawless. This sounds so beautiful I did a double take with my ears.

Very flat sound with no dynamics i think ... Just like the cd without power unfortunately... Silent clean pressing with no issues but no audiophile... Just descent for the money who spent something to have it. All the series wax in colour its exactly that is!! Enjoy then.

I own a decent amount of them and most are pretty solid and was considering getting this one.
Definitive is not the D word here!

I think this recording just genuinely sounds atrocious. There’s not much you can do if the original recording is ass.

However, this TP brings the most out of it that it possibly can. Worth getting if you need a clean copy of this album, but be warned - it inherently sounds like dick.

This is a strange album, partly because the piano sounds incredibly distorted most of the time. The songs themselves aren't terribly cohesive either; it's a fun trio and there's a lot going on, but it sounds like three supremely talented people playing without hearing one another. Just my naive take.

While it’s a stereo pressing, it’s flawless and sounds wonderful. Highly recommended pressing as it’s flat and quiet.
